FL Racers- Port Orange

Any of the FL contingent planning to race this weekend? I'll be there.

Finally a race where the 3's don't have a 2:00 start time.

A bunch of us are heading up to ride the Six Gap course this weekend or I'd probably be there. Should be some Velobrewers there, anyway.

I should be down there both days. Not sure which races I will do, 3's or Masters.

I thought about the RR, but I saw that the uber-geezers (55+) start at 7:30 am. I don't think so. I'm not waking up early enough to drive there for that.

I thought they started that race early, cause all the uber-geezers would already be up.

Heading over Fri night because I don't feel like leaving home @ 5:00 to make it there in time for a 9:40 (or thereabouts) start.

I'll be the lanky dork in the blue/white EMBE kit... say hey if you see me before I'm OTB.

Not me. I'd need to be out the door by 4:30 am and I don't get up anywhere near that early.

I'm on the fence. Not good for my family situation, and my fitness sucks, but its too close to pass up.

Id like to give the race a shot, but it will be my first race. What kind of speeds can be expected in the Cat 5 race (road and crit)? I dont care if Im not competitive for the win, but I dont want to drive an hour, pay $50, then get dropped after ten minutes.

If you're going to race, you're going to get dropped and DNF at some point. It happens to everyone, so don't let that stop you.

I flatted 17 miles into my first race. Crashed out of my second race.
