A Brauer team mate of Gary (gsteinb) and mine, Nelson Li, who just relocated from NJ to TX, is the 2010 40+ National amateur sprint champion on the track:
from the USA Cycling Website:
In the hotly contested 40-44 men’s sprint, Frisco, Texas local Nelson Li (Brauer-Mick Management) beat out the top qualifier, another Texan, Andrew Weathers (Houston, TX/Momentum Coaching Croup-Momentum Coaching Group). The pair, who typically compete at the USA Cycling Elite Track Nationals, ended atop the field that began with more than 20 riders.
Nelson is the 2010 40+ National Sprint Champ!
Congrats to Nelson. Fast cyclist and the nicest guy on the planet.

+1. I met him at the regionals a few weeks back, great guy and I hear good things about him from the other trackies around Frisco. Glad to have him in Texas.

Nelson is the anti-Schwag. Rides the oldest retro bike stuff you can imagine. Doesn't slow him down.

I competed in Frisco and got a silver in team pursuit. Here is a podium pic of the 40 to 44. https://shop.willshootphotos.com/Supe...62_SV2dv-XL-LB

I did not see any anti-Schwag statements in the semi and final rounds for the men's sprint. I did see a couple of old school track frames with high spoke count wheels. One was ridden by a woman who got passed in the 500 meter time trial. However, the bike was not the problem.
