My weight is still way too high for this time of year. I think I just scrubbed my season in terms of what I wanted to accomplish. Sucks. I have resigned to not racing as often as I could have and riding more long rides to help push the weight down and also to running again....seems to be the only ay my body drops weight. I also have reduced myself to only eating Cliff Builder Bars....calorie deficit is large now but let's not talk about what it's doing to the plumbing.

I just want less kg. "Untrained female recreational cyclist" is an inappropriate e-wang category for me.

I am away from my friendly scale. At the gym last night, I weighed 176 pounds. That was after a large frozen yogurt, coffee and a lunch that featured a large burger and fries.

Now that my training intensity has cranked up a bit (races and race like group rides) im having a really hard time keeping my weight down. Holding at 168 but have been creeping up in the 171-175 range after hard weekends as of late..

Dont know if I shouldnt worry or panic and cut calories/fat

forgive me if its been posted but this is an interesting article, brought to my attention by brianappleby that basically says you cant lose weight and gain vo2/anaerobic fitness at the same time.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19568031

so if you do intervals and dont eat enough, your engine cant work hard enough to create gains.

i always think about those stories about brad wiggins crash diet a few years ago before his first tour where he was reportedly doing like 6 hour rides and then coming home and having a couple of apples and a brothy soup for dinner.

totally insane what those guys can do to thier bodies.

I have a feeling he was doing that during his 'base' and not while he was doing a ton of Vo2 work.

I used to weigh 135. I can imagine. It sucked and I was much stronger at 142-145.

I used to weigh 135 as well, once upon a time, and, I can't imagine what it would feel like to do 6 hours of riding or other intense training and have very little to eat on a regular basis. In fact, I can't imagine it independent of my weight at any point in time.

I've been as low as 115. I was riding and running a lot and eating almost nothing. It sucked.

eff it, time to face up to reality. i'm 6lbs lighter than my race weight last year (158--->152), and there's nothing i can do right now to go in deficit mode as i'm either recovering or doing things full bore. This was a lot easier when i was in base building mode (even with those SST workouts) and can cut about 300-400kcals a day. Oh well, i guess i can cut again when collegiate season's over)

damn i killed 2.5 pounds this week despite lower than planned volume.

lots of unstructured intensity though, crit practices and hitting hills really hard.

i'm at 162.4

after weeks of stagnation call that a breakthough. sub160 feels attainable now.

171.1 this AM. I am happy with the weight after a week in Newport Beach drinking way too much wine and eating too much Italian sausage at Sabatino's restaurant on Balboa Island.

Too many cookies during race weekend and not enough exercise since means weight goes up...

I hope it'll go back down to manageable levels by Saturday.

Well despite doing my best to help you out and generally eating more and worrying about it less I'm holding steady at exactly 132. Fine by me.
