Then you are going to have a tough time at the Grant Park Crit this weekend. You are doing it, aren't you? I only see three of your teammates signed up for the only in-town crit of the year.

Well, since i'll be doing the equivalent of cat3/4 races when collegiate racing starts, i better cut my weight down. Got a few months to work with before i hit the Next Step FTP program.

So here i go:

Race weight last year: 69.5kg, March - April
Min weight this year: 68.5kg, end of June
Weight now: 70.5kg
Target weight: 67kg

I managed to gain weight on after riding a century.. I hope this is temporary.

It's time to start my off season weight loss routine and get back to my fighting weight, my lowest this season was 193

my goal is the 175 to the low 180's form 209 right now.

I'm back up to about 175. I was 158 last fall. I want to be in the 150s next spring. We'll see.

Sure, although it's kind of depressing for me. I'll be 195 by this time next year based on my "progress" in the last year.

Hmm...have dropped another 4 pounds in the last week...down to 148. Tapeworm?

Only thing I have done different is reset my ATP and started training w/power rather than HR </shrug>

A bunch of things:
1. Rein in expectations/goals by setting absolutely no goals for 2011; intentionally kept out of contention at Bethel (only race I could do was P123 and I got slaughtered).
2. Less motivated for winter training in CT (trainer/indoors), so dropped 5-10 hours/week.
3. Get sick in SoCal for my training camp, had 3 non-sick days there, one was a rest day, one a race, and one was Palomar. Lost 25? hours base, my main bit for the season
4. Stopped tracking diet totally - started eating fries, oily foods, etc.

This resulted in:
1. DNFs at Bethel. Instead of doing 2 races (150 minutes of racing), I'd DNF after 30 minutes. Lost a lot of base racing miles.
2. DNFs at Tues Nights and Sunday races. Instead of doing 60 min flat out, I'd do 15-20 min. Lost more potential fitness gains.
3. Repeat DNFs, get shelled on rides, and basically never progress fitness-wise, gain weight due to reduced riding time.

I think I will join this if that is okay. Need to lose a good bit before next year and this will hold me accountable.

I weighed 149.7 this morning.

I haven't weighed this little since I last raced. I haven't ever looked better in my life.

Now if only my body didn't feel like it belong in a junkyard.

I don't need to lose much but I do need to maintain. I'm in when I hit the scale later.

why does it even matter if you don't race? anything between 140 to 160 would be considered unnaturally skinny in the eyes of most middle-aged women. might as well bulk up to 170

Given what you have accomplished, you are just trying to rub it in the faces of the rest of us, aren't you . In all seriousness, a role model is always welcomed.

personally, i'm not writing in anything and trying to see what i can do in the next three days. probably not a lot

OK, but I had difficulty maintaining weight until the racing season was well in gear. I thought this might help, but I don't want to be a distraction.

sorry to come off that way, but i don't think you'll be a distraction. I'm just making light of your embarrassment of riches

I was able to maintain 138-140lbs this year for my important races. I'm going to attempt getting down to 134-136lbs for next year. I want to get up to 145lbs for the winter, so eating a bit more, put on a bit of weight to help gain some watts and leg muscle. When I start racing and easing off the diet, the weight will fall off fast in early spring. We'll see if my body will stay healthy and if I can keep the watts up at 134-136 (if I can even get that low). If not, I'll just try to get back to the goal weight I had last year, but hopefully with more watts.

i held at 170# this summer. down 5 pounds from the winter. i want to hit my first road race of 2012 at 165#. lately the eating has been crazy, but as the days grow shorter and the riding becomes less i got to it under control. later.

I would, but I can't lift. I actually wanted to get up to about 180 and stay there, but this is cheaper because less food is required and I needed new shirts/pants/etc when I was 170 (which I was close to last fall).

Just had the yearly apt with the PCP. She thinks that it'll take a year or so, but I'll be able to ride/race again and lift.

I don't even know if I'll be in the country then, but I'd love to ride again.

I'm down to 205 right now.... guessing it is mostly a water loss after the century from Sunday.

I start insanity after Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

I've going to do my FTP test before I start insantiy and I'll ride my bike as well as do the insanity.

my primary goal right now is to get leaner... I am gym strong buy I want to transfer that to the pedals and drop my kg's to up my watt/kg.

I'm more concerned about weight loss right now than structured cycling training.
