Mo' Money for twenty (eleven)
Dear USA Cycling Clubs and Teams:
In an effort to better organize the top end of road cycling in the United States, USA Cycling is creating a new category of road team that is above a club but not yet a UCI registered team. We hope that this addition will create a stepping stone to becoming a professional level team as well as better organize teams at the National Racing Calendar level. Termed Domestic Elite Teams, both men's and women's teams wishing to accrue NRC Team points must either be at this level or a UCI registered team.
Below are some of the highlights to keep in mind in determining if you are interested in becoming a Domestic Elite Team:
These teams can consist of Women's category 1 and 2 and Men's category 1 riders only.
The deadline to register your Domestic Elite Team is March 15th.
You MUST be a member of a Domestic Elite Team or a UCI registered team to gain NRC team points in 2011. (Individual NRC points are still available to riders not on one of these teams.)
The cost to register as a Domestic Elite Team is $250 for 2011.
The detailed guidelines and application forms are available on our website on the UCI and Domestic Elite Teams page.

Elite team....so who cares....
I wonder when they are going to prevent clubs from using "Elite" in their designation of team names.... currently we have "PSIMET Elite" as our 1/2/3 "team".

Yeah, I'm going with who cares as well. Elite should only be cat 1 riders and anyone going for NRC team points can swing a $250 reg charge pretty easily. It doesn't prevent a normal squad from racing or placing.

Is "Elite" thrown around in cycling like "Expert" is in Twitter (Biographies)?

I don't think the two fitty is going to keep any of those teams from chasing the NRC title
