Tracking your race resume
My friend and I competed in our first races last weekend at the Alsatian Country III, and we're wondering: Where are our races tracked for the purposes of moving to CAT-4? Do we track them on our own before submitting to TXBRA or is there something on the USAC site we're missing?

You can manage your account on USAC's website - after 10 races you can ask for an upgrade. Don't depend on the site for all info - track it yourself as well.

You need to track them yourself. They will be reviewed and confirmed by the upgrade official. Take a look at the upgrade form on txbra. Click "Add a Result" and look at the fields there. Just create a spreadsheets.google.com document that covers those fields, and keep it up to date.
You can go back and look at confirmed riders on BikeReg to get a rough idea of how many registered. It will be a bit more than that for Cat 3, 2, 1, and Masters, but 4 and 5 are usually pretty close to full. Then again, you don't need field sizes for Cat 5, but recording it is good practice anyway.

Excellent, thanks for the speedy reply.
The races went really well, despite a restart on the prime lap of the crit. The inflatable finish arch collapsed across the road and my buddy barely ducked under in time. Apparently another rider right behind him thought he'd do the same, but flipped his bike over instead.

Trust me it happened. I wasn't in this race, but it was my teamate that the arch landed on.
Also, FWIW; I just got finished upgrading from 5 to 4. I just kept a personal log of all my races (similar to what WR said above). Once I had 10 races, I just went on the site, entered all the info and within a few days, got my upgrade email.
