FL- Race of the West

Anyone planning to race this Sat?

I'm up in the air. This was one of my priority races in 2011 when it was originally scheduled for May because it's one of the only true road races in FL without doing a bunch of laps in an undeveloped subdivision. Now two weeks ago, they moved this race to Easter weekend.

I've got family in town through the weekend and I certainly haven't been concentrating on training for a 95mi race in the hills, so it may have to wait till next year.

My family had rented a condo down in Cocoa Beach for the weekend about a month ago, (family commitments) > (racing desires). I too had it circled as an A-race, but then with the move it looks like I'll be going to Georgia the weekend of May 14th instead.

The SugarLoaf weekend is Sept 24-25. Gonna hit that one. Not sure what the turnout is going to be on short notice on Easter Weekend, pass for me.

It got the kibosh at my house, family in town. I'll get out for a ride Saturday, but not 100 miles starting at noon in Orlando.

I'm graduate school prospecting with my son in NYC this weekend, so I will miss it. Had it penciled in as an A race for May...now re-shifting my training to peak later in the summer.

Grad school prospecting over the holiday weekend? Put your patience hat on, especially if you have to drive anywhere.

Yea, Ocala, PAL and New Symrna got bumped up on the A-list.

Thankfully all the schools he wants to attend are in the city so it is just a bunch of subway rides. It is bloody crowded here however.

The Gwinnett Cycling Fest in late July is also on the radar.
