Whoever designed this Enduro course is an idiot. Every first corner is a disaster, with at least two guys crashing. Whoever makes it through the first turn without running into someone or getting caught behind someone else who crashes basically wins.

It's about like having the collegiate crit that I raced in that had a bunnyhop (down) curb in the middle of a turn, except it's at the Worlds.

I think that his front wheel broke the plane of the finish line, and he was kinda sorta with the bike.

Bad about the little girl. I hope she's okay.

terrible news. Hope she is ok and they were just being cautious.

As for the guy laying in the road, he looks like he finished to me. Your bike has to cross the line (his has). All the rule says is that "the front tire passes through an imaginary vertical plane extending from the finish line" or something like that. It says nothing about the rider being with the bike. Either way, I think his foot might be over the line as well.

I think as long as his bike got to the finish line without any assistance other than his, he has finished.

I know enough to know that I don't really enjoy watching the favorites get wrecked in the first corner because it's a crap shoot. It would be like at the Tour if they just picked 10 numbers at the start of each stage and eliminate them from the Tour.

Not to mention watching the women on that course was a joke. Apparently it was a really hard course for Enduro, even the men were all over the place. But the women spent more time off their bikes than on. It was stupid, I felt bad for them.

getting the hole shot is far from a crapshoot. that's like saying it's a crapshoot who gets dropped up a climb. crashing in the first corner is part of any motocross race, but you make your own luck by nailing your jump and your shifts down the starting straight. it's far from "luck."

That's the problem, there is no starting straight. It's about 20 feet down a 30* slope, and then a skinny little right then left s-curve. They all got there at the same time. The smart ones in later races actually SLOWED DOWN, in order to avoid the carnage and pick their way through the pile-up. Did I mention the start line is wood? And the slope is wood? So they all just spin their tires and then slide their way fishtailing down the slope?

Busy with travel last week, and I'm leaving for a long trip to central CA on Wednesday, but I'm bringing the bike...

Today I found a draft behind a milk truck and hit 58mph. I was over 50mph with the truck for 1.5 miles. That really took the edge off the heat

edit - oh i guess everyone is at TOC.
The course is super short. I don't even think it is long enough to count for upgrade points. I considered until I noticed it was 13 miles for the 4 s

OK - I need some opinions from you guys but not sure how to do it. It is business related so I don't feel right posting it here. I can PM you some pics on FB if you're on there if you'd like. Just let me know which "real name" you are and we can do that.

Basically I need opinions on an offering I have coming up and I need opinions fast. If someone has a better way then just let me know. It seems whenever I put anything about my actual wheels on BF it get's pimp slapped into never-never-land.

FYI - on the stuff I just posted on FB that is a general ad campaign - what I am asking about on this is a specific choice on an upcoming offering.

A former leadout man, former helper of Bethel Spring Series, etc, recently went on a long ride over some of the Tour of CO passes with a 2011 Tour rider, one that placed very highly, and a former Tour rider, a current (assistant?) DS of the feeder team but apparently still very fit. He said they were really fast. He also liked having the team car behind their little group (of four riders, 2 pros, 2 I-don't-know-how-they-got-to-ride-with-thems). I guess this one team is pretty serious about the race, doing recon, spending 10-15 minutes at each peak reviewing various climb parameters.

On all but one section they went at the amateurs' pace. But then someone said something about "so-and-so here (my friend) killed the group up this part of the climb" and the 2011 rider grinned and shot up the slope. He big-ring-middle-cog'ed the climb, slow rpm, while my buddies were 39x25 or so and just turning the gear over.

Another . My wife is finally starting to 'get it'.

Regarding kids getting hurt, I'm glad that girl is going to be OK. My kids were hanging through the parallel barricades in the finishing chute this weekend and I'm glad to report that my wife was told that it was not acceptable.

58 WR? You make me want to surf behind trucks. I've been in search of 60 for a while now.
