Oh facepalm. I thought you guys were talking about a race this weekend.

Rent would be awesome, but I don't think I could leave work early enough to meet up with you by 4. Bummah!

I didn't realize he landed in my door pocket - 15 minutes later he was crawling around again. I looked for him last night, this morning, can't find him. I was supposed to fly to Baltimore via Norfolk on Saturday afternoon. That looked like it wasn't going to be possible so I moved my travel up and now flying directly on Friday evening. I hope that I don't get stuck up there with the weather. My return is out of Philly at the crack of dawn on Monday. The storm should be gone by then.

Storm turning west a bit. Could be ugly for my parent's boat. As of yesterday they were gonna stay there, not so sure now that it's moving west and forecast about 70 mph where they are. The boat is on the hard, they're tying it down with sand screws, but they live in a mobile home there, not the best place to be.

They take about 25% of my check. I don't earn enough to get it lower.

and there it is

Due to impending hurricane, I have cancelled the 2011 New Jersey State Criterium Championship scheduled for this Sunday, August 28, 2011 in Morris Township.

Greg and I should be speaking soon to see if it is at all possible to reschedule. Online registrations to date will be refunded.

Sorry

Yours in Cycling
Cindy

I have a dash cam where I delete the last few minutes if nothing happened. I recorded all the way home in case I crashed because of the spider. I was driving all paranoid, swatting at imaginary stuff on my arms, legs, neck, hair.

Saw that Spawn1's school is allowing students to check in a day early (Saturday) because of Irene. We are getting up there early anyway with changed travel plans. Originally we thought about kicking around Baltimore on Saturday, but now it might make sense to get Spawn1 moved in before the weather turns bad. I've been through stuff like that and it isn't fun to be out and about in it.

<old guy telling a boring story>
A few years back I fixed a roof leak at my in-law's house in the middle of a strong tropical storm/weak hurricane. They were out of town and a neighbor called to say that a tree fell on my in-law's house. Even though we were told not to venture out I went to my in-law's house, saw where the tree landed, checked inside for leaks (none found), and thought that they got off lucky.

I then looked in their garage and the ceiling was dripping water everywhere. While the downed tree didn't do much damage, something else punctured the roof over their garage.

I quickly found a drill and drilled drain holes all over the ceiling. Then I went up into the attic space over their garage to see what the damage was. There was a nice clean hole punched through. I found some spare shingles (that is the way my f-i-l rolls), the closest thing to roofing nails that I could find, a hammer, and a ladder. Then I went up on the roof.

I have been on roofs in the midday in the summer. That sucks bad, but this time was just crazy scary. I fixed the hole and got off ASAP.

Thinking about your spider on the way to lunch today I laughed at this memory from 8yrs ago...

With frequent trips in/out of the house my wife & I had hurriedly packed the car for Grandma's and then strapped our 2 kids into their car seats in the mini van. We were late & rushing as we backed out of the driveway and then headed through the gates of our complex. As I was checking traffic to pull out into the main highway out of nowhere:

I feel something unfamiliar at my right arm
My wife screams bloody murder
I slam on the brakes & look at my wife screaming
I start to scream with a WTF? are we screaming at tone
I look where she's looking at the console between our seats
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Meow!

Cat, wife, & I all look at each other and then bust up laughing. The kids snap out of their shocked silence and join in.

It was our neighbor's cat who must have jumped in as we were loading the car.

It's one of my oldest son's earliest memories. He always brings it up when we talk about the old house.

The "Back to School" ads on BF have a very annoying roll-over attribute. I will make sure to never, ever, spend any money with whomever they are.

Good luck. Not that you need a lot, but every little bit helps.

And if your wife is anything like her BF persona I would agree with your "pleasant to talk to" assessment.
