Makes sense.

Yeah, I agree. It seems like any renewable animal product (doesn't kill animal) should be just fine. I guess if you go vegan and start picking on cruelty at dairies, then that's a different story, but as far as the material you're consuming, eggs should be fine IMO. Same goes with blood, like how in some Aftrican regions, they tap a cow's jugular for blood, then seal it up and let the cow regenerate more blood.

So eating lizard tails, crab claws, and starfish legs is vegetarian friendly?

I did a cross country tour in 1990 and 1 of the guys was a vegan. Sometimes it was a pain for him to find food, especially in small cow towns.
He wasn't just a vegan, he had, as someone said, food phobias. He ate lots of dry baked potatos and dry salads.
He was also the fastest and youngest of the 4 of us and we could send him ahead to check out the next town and report back to us on the road.

Because it has nothing to do with practicalities, it's a religion. The dogma of the religion says 'no eggs'. Our society is so well fed that we can actively shun perfectly good protein sources in our diet while entire African villages eat termites to get a little protein in theirs.

But, I can see where a Vegan is coming from as far as eggs go, and most animal products. Eggs = exploitation of an animal. To eat eggs is to support a system where animals are seemingly taken advantage of.
The difference between a Vegan and me is that I love steak so much that I'm willing to engage in the cognitive dissonance necessary to justify killing a fairly smart and feeling creature to eat its tasty, tasty fleshy parts, and they're all like, just, gay or whatever.

I hate vegans as much as the next guy. Hell, I set one on fire the other day and roasted marshmellows over his sad crisping body while purposely letting them drip into the poor bastard's open mouth. ENJOY THAT GELATIN, ***!

In fact the steers we raised pissed me off so bad throughout the year I was more than happy to do the deed in the Fall. Not one bit of cognitive dissonance here.

Went hunting last night. Sat with mini me for about 1.5 hrs in some brush. As soon as we got up we saw 3 white tails book it from a little hollow on the other side of the field.
I have no qualms with meat. Our dentition proves we're omnivorous. Plus, it's tasty.
