Warming up on a trainer is good for the legs, but it screws me up a little. I don't spend much time on trainers, so it kind of messes up my bike handling for the first lap or 2. I just don't feel stable. If I warm up on rollers, I don't get that feeling. Generally, though, I just warm up on the road. My sweet spot is about 30-45 minutes of warm-up time. I've done the 'start cold' thing, but it doesn't do me any favors for the first 1/4 of the race. After that, I think it's about the same regardless of warm-up.

It makes me feel a little better if I choose to believe that the thief was someone who needed a better warm up. Instead of just an opportunistic meth head looking for something to sell on Craigslist.

I didn't plan the diagram that way but you're right. My subconscious must be very rkwaki like. That's a little disturbing...

I can picture you with a blue star, wandering over to foo and turning it into the orgy scene from Caligula.

Ugh. Sick. Today was my day off anyway, except I've spent all day doing housework and stuff. So far it's just in the head, hopefully it stays there.

Great googley moogley- I found a gym by my office. I can start commuting to work finally. I'll bet I make better time getting to and from work on my bike than I do in my truck. And- I'm not going to spend $100/wk in gas!

Burning extra calories means eating more so grocery $'s go up. Also bike tires, bike brake pads, etc, etc, etc.

Still it is awesome. I've been doing it for over 35 years.

And "great googley moogley" is from Zappa. Nice!

So I have a couple options of what to ride to work: I have my track bike, race bike and my townie. I'd prefer the townie because it has racks and fenders. Regardless of what I wear, I'm going to be sweaty when I get there, so I'm curious: Do I go ahead and wear full kit on the townie for comfort, or is there something else recommended? If I were closer, I'd wear work clothes, but again- Texas = hotpants.

Road kit on the townie too bizarro?

I wear cycling gear when riding my commuter bike to work.

It has a power meter.
