Does wanting to work tomorrow instead of drink and bbq make me a good American or a bad American?

I have a huge analytical services order (that is requiring much troubleshooting) that I just want to get over with. The customers wont stop bugging me for the data, and they paid for rush order service.
Technically I don't have to complete it until Thursday, but I want to come in tomorrow and finish it so I can focus on other tasks.

I likely wont because my family and friends (and especially my gf) would be a little dissapointed that I wasn't there to celebrate.

Plus, I got more than my fair share of day time drinking and beach-going on Saturday after my group ride. I hung out w a co-worker and his gf and had 9 (yes thats NINE) IPAs throughout the day. A few before the beach, and then bar-hopping after.

So can you tell yet whether it has basically worked, or does that await being able to ride hard? Or was it working or not never really a question and you just need to get through the recovery?

determining appropriate concentrations for ~200nm alumina dispersions for zeta potential analysis on a zetasizer nano zs. I figured that one out.

the other problem was an error msg we were encountering relating to CPU usage and available RAM. this instrument rly demands a lot out of a computer. some1 else figured that one out.

it's good to finally be marching down the road and collecting data, although I wish I started doing that at 9:00AM instead of 3pm...

Road in the rain tonight. It was a refreshing change after the 100+ degree heat and the "too close to home fire" we had.

Tomorrow's my favorite race of the year but I'm having motivation problems. I think I'm going to give myself a bit of a racing break after tomorrow.

i shall join my US friends in celebrating the 4th of July....Working from home...Going for a ride shortly...

Planning on hills repeats and doing those in 32C hot, hazy, smoggy conditions are not appealing...So work a bit...ride and then work some more!

Oh yea and a stop at the cafe for caffeine at some point...

Have a great day guys....

Says the guy who raced a TT with a broken elbow? If the steroids fix the problem then I won't have a problem and an easy spin will be fine. My doctor agreed.

AZTR, the surgery was successful and did what it needed to do, so as long as there is no scarring I should be able to breathe/race/train normally after I recover. It will probably be about a month before I'm recovered enough to ride hard and feel what it's like though.

Failure of logic, though if your doctor says it's ok to ride than that's fine. It's sounded like you're just pushing to get out there.

Nope, with the move coming up I'm not training for anything for a while, so no incentive to rush it. Just starting to feel a little better and want to go for a bike ride because I like to ride my bike. Going to skip riding this weekend in favor of a camping trip.

GA- I don't know if I missed it or not but if you are still having a hard time keeping anything down - look at the antibiotic you are on. I have had exactly what you describe -cause was antibiotic. Dr didn't want to believe it - refused actually - but we changed and everything changed immediately.

Thanks, I think that's what was making me feel steadily nauseous last week, but I finished those a few days ago. Right now I just have a lot of swelling and scabs (mostly at the spot where there was a lot of bleeding that had to be cauterized) which is just physically catching in my throat and pressing on my gag reflex when I swallow pills or drink water. Food and coffee are fine though.

It's a good plan. He is how mine is unfolding:

Running hundreds of counterflow combustion problems with a proprietary reaction mechanism (over 500 reactions). About 150 of them are done.

Read a PhD thesis that will be defended tomorrow morning.

Wrote and sent Spawn1 a bunch of Calc 3 problems to work on involving Green's Theorem, curl and divergence operators, exact differentials, and how they all connect to each other.

Skype and Idroo with Spawn1 to discuss the problems.

1 hr 45 minute solo training ride.

Medicated the dog (he hates fireworks).

Started grill getting ready to smoke chickens. Chickens have been out of the fridge for about 1 hour warming up.

Once the chickens go on I'll have an adult beverage.

Holy crap Mollusk, reading that made me tired...As I sit here drawing flood lines in AutoCAD. Not the most mentally challenging work, but you be surprised how some people just do not grasp the concept...
