Olympic Trial Qualification Stats

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could post some stats for road bikers that are required to qualify for the Olympics (US). I couldn't find this info quickly neither here nor online. Also, do they use only TT results or do you also have to race against others, presumably Cat 1s? Some additional information about the distances and climbs involved would be helpful. Thanks.

read through urbanknights link but the short version is pro tour only riders. Sorry, your not going to make it. Best bet would be to find the smallest country with an Olympic program, apply for citizenship and get on the team that was. Pretty hard to do for the US unless you can out TT Davey Z or out climb Levi.

"Beginning in the 1970s, amateurism requirements were gradually phased out of the Olympic Charter. After the 1988 Games, the IOC decided to make all professional athletes eligible for the Olympics. As of 2004, the only sports in which no professionals compete are boxing and wrestling, although even this requires a definition of amateurism based on fight rules rather than on payment, as some boxers and wrestlers receive cash prizes from their National Olympic Committees."

I for one always thought that Olympics should be reserved to amateurs only. World Championships for pros.
