Tylenol? Aspirin? Motrin?

If one is caught after a race with one of these in his blood, is it considered doping?

No. At one point, some OTC analgesics contained caffeine which may have triggered a positive if you'd taken TONS of one of those, but caffeine was removed from the prohibited substances list sometime in the past few years. That said, I trust you know the differences between them and which one(s) you might take under different circumstances.

yea...I wonder if caffeine should be banned. it seems to have a huge effect for some, and almost no effect for others. for me, when I'm running on a few cups of coffee, my HR will go up to 175 (87% of max) before I start to breath hard, other people can drink 5 cups before bed and sleep like a baby.

The US Olympic Committee will still bust somebody for having taken over 600 mg of caffeine in a couple hour period. But getting that much caffeine takes a conscious effort. Popping a couple pills for pain won't get you anywhere near enough that number to matter.

Not to dispute you because my memory is not solid about this, but I thought they had removed caffeine entirely. Maybe it was another sports sanctioning body.

The World Anti-doping Agency has, the US Olympic Committee has not, so I'm sure you were thinking of the WAA.

[off topic, slightly]would these products mask the pain caused by latic acid? say, to help allievate the burning thighs during a race? they help me afterward, no doubt, but i've never taken them before a hard ride. [/off topic, slightly]

Not off-topic at all. Yes, they will mask a small measure of discomfort. That is why I sometimes take either aspirin or ibuprofen before a hard ride. As for blood-thinning from aspirin, that is exactly what you want. Studies have revealed slightly higher level performance levels [in part] because thinner blood flows through the vascular system more easily, and in turn transports more oxygen to the muscles. (And, I seriously doubt 2-4 aspirins will put me in danger of bleeding to death. I will take my chances.)
