Phonak's participation in the early negotiations of the PT were instrumental in its formation. However, Phonak's official challenge to UCI, WADA, and IOC sanctioned testing standards-- after Tyler and then Santi tested positive-- irritated a few of the top brass in the IOC. I doubt they're going to let that pass without retribution of some kind.
Too bad for the likes of the newly signed team mates including Floyd Landis who's probably contemplating the wisdom of leaving his old team. Being contracturally tied to a team without any commercial viability could prove devastating to his career.
