Nicely done video, made me want to get out and ride!

Prediction.....Kloeden and Vinny become the team leaders and Jan becomes the most expensive domestique in the Peleton!

They have a strong team...now with the addition of Sevilla Jan may actually have some help (if he can keep up) in the mnts...I have liked Sevillas style since he was with Kelme...I think he finished 7th or so in TDF that year and won best new rider or something like that

Man, Jan does not look himself for this time of the year. He is actually looking pretty trim.

Anyone else think he has an excellent chance of winning the Tour (Lance or no Lance) this year? In all of his interviews, he seems incredibly focused.

I think he needs to not **** up his training like he did in 04. He needs to stay focused the whole time not just for inter views.

Much in the same way Jan de-throned Riis I think either Kleoden or Vinny will do the same to him. I do agree that Jan looks much fitter for this time of the year but if Vinny has fully recovered from his injuries I put him at the top of the food chain on T-Mobil. With Jan past-is-prolouge and I see him finishing behind LA or Vinny this year. But this is a new season and a lot can happen between now and June.

Take a look at him in those pictures and tell me he hasn't been focused outside of just interviews.

It's now or never for Jan. Personally, I hope he gets to slug it out with Lance this year. He looks as good as he ever has. I also agree that Jan could be dethroned in the next year or two. Vino had a tough middle to second half of the season with the injury he sustained in the Tour de Suisse. I think he could be the big surprise of this year.

What if Lance is a no-show though? It seems Jan is intent on beating Lance, so if LA isn't there for him to contend against, I have a feeling someone (Vino?) might steal the limelight.

Doesn't he always say something like that? I mean it's as bad as David Coultard in F1 every year he says I'm going to beat Michael Schumacher.

Don't forget that Jan was sick beginning the Tour last year and then all the rain. Iknow Iknow Lance keeps kicking his butt.....butt, he is one very very talented rider who rides his ass off every year...even if he's a little late riding off some of that ass. I would love to see them duel it out after LA wins a classic or helps good ole Georgie.

Yes, I know he says things like that all the time. What he doesn't do all the time, however, is seriously focus on his off-season training. By the looks of him and the report of his 3,000km riding in South Africa over Christmas, he is doing just that this time.

Jan can be as fit as he possibly could be, but he won't beat
LA, Vinny, or any other serious Tour Contenders.
Jan has the motor, no doubt about it, but his losses
are psychological.

Yeah, just like 2003 when Vino came in 2nd and Jan 3rd.

Oh wait...

Unless they take out the time trials in 05 Jan will beat Vinny. The man cannot time trial any better than in 2003, and his effort that year was not enough. This discussion reminds me of those people last year who saind that Heras was going to be a contender at the TDF. Look at the past winners of the TDF, they are all good against the watch. The only exception I can think of was Pantani in 1998. That year he took 9 min. out of Jan on a rainy wet day in the Alps.

I'll conceed that Vinny can't TT as well as Jan, very few can, but Vinny is better climber than Jan and if allowed could put some serious time on Jan. This year is all up in the air due to the Pro Tour but making predictions is what makes sport fun. Like I predicted my beloved 49's would win only 1 game...they exceeded my prediction by 100%! So lets not get too serious!
