Products Archive - Kontact Bike

^ big fan for years now - it was originally intro'd by Performance as the "E3" but didn't sell, so the owner renamed to Kontact. Actually based on real science, instead of the pseudo science that most other saddles use.

The one warning / caveat - it's critical to get fore-aft position to the millimeter, not a very large sweet spot on this saddle. And it's a racing saddle... if you want to knock out double centuries I'd suggest a Brooks.

I generally get abused by the Cat 3 kids. Was in break with one a couple of years ago. After I pulled he said, "Is that all you've got?"

I wanted to smack him.

Very scary. Take care of her and hoping for a normal delivery when the time comes.

Socal to Reno, 460 miles, 17.5 gallons. Me and the dog and some luggage. I've hit 30 a few times if there's a tailwind.

It's a pretty bare bones unit, the seats are out, and I don't always drive it 90. Old well worn V6. Torquey it's not.

<Shrug>

It's not like I'm emotionally invested in the thing and making this stuff up to chest pound about my bad ass mini van. I have a Porsche Boxster in the garage so if I needed a midlife crises car, I have one. I'm over the car thing to make me look pretty and hung, I'm a 50+ guy with 30+ years with the same awesome gal. If you saw the scratches on the side from leaning bikes against it and the amount of dog fur inside along with the cracks in the dash from sitting out in Texas and SoCal sun and the yellowed headlight lenses you'd think I hated the thing and was trying to kill it.

And it was the wife's idea.

At this point I am curious to see if it will die.

admit it, you're just behind the mpg because you gave up on life.

our pack crawled around the course and huddled together and they (wisely) gave us an early bell.

i decided to "sprint" from 1k -- not because i thought i would wing but rather i thought it would be safer in case people actually did try to sprint. wound up getting pipped at the line.

took me a solid hour in a hot shower to feel sort of warm. i remember feeling cold the next 24h.

type 2 fun = no fun at the time, but a few years later you remember it as fun.

i am optimistic heading into it. i was leading a stage race 8 weeks post-clavicle repair after not knowing if i'd have to write off much of the season, so i'm hopeful that i'll be back to racing soon.

I just bought a Viper and I'm averaging 12mpg.

I bought a Lexus CT200h in January for commuting/highway trips/bike hauling and get 42+mpg. Surprisingly has plenty of oompf to accelerate when needed, and overtake on the highway.
