Yesterday on the way to my loop, I passed an old dude riding a kmart bike goign the right direction. At the next red light, he blasted through it without even looking (and this is a very busy intersection - Kirby/Shepherd for those who know Houston). Narrowly missed gettign tagged by several SUVs. After we got the green and I caught him he complained about people not "paying attention". I screamed a few choice words at him and he got back on the sidewalk.

Not my finest moment, but I try hard to be an efficient cyclist in traffic. Not meaning that I obey all the traffic rules, but I mean that I try to keep everything running smoothly including drivers. This guy was clearly clueless.

Don't pay any attention to RX, he still hasn't gotten over the time he showed up for that group run back in the 80's and got picked on by the guys wearing terry cloth shorts.

He been bent on revenge since.

I had a serious pair of denim shorts like that. I tore a hole in the crotch. Being poor I fixed them by sewing a Pops Yoshimura jacket patch over the hole.

And that, my friends, is how I met Mrs. Ex.

And several other girls before that. Really, I had no shame back then.

Have you registered for 'Cross Nationals yet?
If you haven't, and you're planning to race for a Stars-and-Stripes jersey in "Madtown" next month, you should register now! "

Anybody have the weather report in hell?

I'm about to order a 24" BMX bike from JensonUSA. Will finally have something to roll down to the coffee shop/bar with. Def wouldn't lock up any of my other bikes there.

It's gotta have the headtube gusset and prism stickers. It's not about usefulness, it's about nostalgia.

Hi guys,

Plantar fasciitis sucks, but I think I sent b to a gas station for dinner and wine, which makes me feel good.

How's life?

Plantar faciitis does suck -- but I did manage to get over mine after about 9 months.

Regarding eating at gas stations --- don't leave Austin w/out this experience: Rudy's

I think my step-dad took mine to the dump when I went to school. I didn't care at the time.

I held onto mine. 1986 (85?) chrome Haro Master - like the one below. Mine needs a bit of refurb though (wheels, seat, bars).

I wish I would have held on to this one too.

Me too. Safety, efficiency, and predictability. Strict adherence to traffic laws a bit further down the list.
