First 300k / 200m week in two years. Going to try to keep the party going through December but its going to be tough with the weather and family in town.
Did 3.5 hours of z3 mixed in with some SST; on the way back the winds were really picking up and it was tough just keeping the front week straight. I passed two guys struggling to get home; tired with all hope lost, with families in deep concern for their lives, I took their lives in my hands and they jumped on my wheel. I rode hard as I could for the next 10 miles and cut the wind like butter; they were still on my wheel and tried a few times to take a pull but I just motioned for them to stay back. Almost puked, but Superman didn't puke when he spun the Earth backwards and I wasn't going to either. Towards the end I was wondering why they were staying back but after I finished they looked half dead.
In the parking lot, they came over and thanked me in broken english; as a rider with a poop ftp that felt pretty good.
Generations later, in a small village deep in Chiapas, they will tell the story of El Viento Blanco (The White Wind) and how he saved two crushed souls from the great hurricane of Southern California. Some will say it was it was Mark Cavendish, others claim it was Lance on his last batch of EPO; the lore grows.
(might be a slight exaggeration)

90 minutes of tempo on the rollers this morning. Had planned on some threshold intervals after work but i'm feeling pretty beat. sleep hasn't been where it needs to be the past few nights. hopefully i can recharge with a rest week coming up.
~edit~
so last night i was pretty bummed about not completing my planned workout, but in all honesty, it should have been expected. indoor riding takes a more significant toll than outdoor riding and I need to readjust my expectations accordingly. 3 hours indoors on saturday left me feeling pretty wrecked and my 1.5 hours tempo sunday morning was pretty solid as well, probably more like set/threshold type intensity. so to think i could do that then be on my feet for 8 hours at work then do threshold intervals at night was foolish. In hindsight I should have just stretched the morning workout to 2 hours and called it a day.
anyway, after this easy week I should be able to put in some really solid hours. only have two exams and they won't require a ton of studying so I should be able to do 4 big weeks before I leave. sorry for turning this into my personal diary.

2:45 easy, about 50% FTP, transitioning into recovery week.
Also I found this one fun hill, really steep doing 3 mph at 200 watts for a while. Coasted back down at about 45 mph. Glad I brought the gloves. Over 200 miles this long weekend

Mine isn't nearly that much, but still the most I've ever done in a week by a pretty good margin.

Yesterday: 80'ish miles with the local club. Overally pretty sore and the wrist is still pretty sore. Glad to be on the bike again...The ride had so many freaking stops I almost just bailed on them and went off on my own but I decided to just stick it out since I like the people. This is the club I started riding with so I knew pretty much everyone in it. Great group of people but man...6 flats on this group ride and one crash. I mean did everyone in this club buy cheap a$$ tires? Also we had a crash where one of the girls hit a pothole and swerved and hit another girl and crashed. She manned up pretty hard because I would of probably rode home but she kept riding the rest of the ride(40 miles) with road rash on her hip and elbow. 6 flats, 1 crash stop, 2 liquor store stops and one long coffee stop. I got home like 2pm and left at 7...
Today: Did a sprint/handling clinic with Rahsaan Bahati and a juniors/development team. I saw the post on facebook and decided I could learn a few things so I headed over. Wrist was sore so I didn't really do any real sprints, but tried to digest all the info he was giving. Friendly dude with great advice!

Today: 1x10' at 330w, 1x20 at 310w.
A little tubby after a week at home; 147lbs. Hopefully a trim <143 by April.
Also: need a fan for the basement. Thought I was going to die towards the end of the 10min effort.

I went to bed last night at 8pm and slept until 6:45am.
I guess it was a huge week. I feel a little less destroyed today, but will be in bed early again tonight I'm guessing.

Had a great weekend on the bike...5 days off work total.
Turkey ride up South Mountain on Thursday, coffee ride with the hubby on Friday, group ride to Saguaro Lake Saturday and another ride up South Mountain on Sunday.
I was also very tired from the riding and socializing this weekend. Slept 9 hours last night which is a lot for me!
I got home from work a little early and the weather is gorgeous so I just went out for a spin on the TT bike this afternoon. It has been months but after about 10 minutes of feeling awkward, it all started to feel right. The TT bike was my only bike for a few years and I rode thousands of miles on it when I raced Triathlon but I have a feeling I will have some sore muscles tomorrow.

I too slept much longer than usual, went to bed at 2100.
Lunch Ride - Rode for 45 minutes up the local climb. Its the same one I use for my FTP test and even on tired legs I was barely off. Definately getting lighter, stronger. Of course getting strong is easier when you come back from a 2 year layoff and had a fully atrophied left leg.

****, I think I drank more than I rode last week v__v
only 6 hours total, did the HOP on saturday after taking friday off, then stayed out too late saturday night and missed the team ride/felt like ****/got lazy
oh well, gotta work extra hard this week I suppose.
Also getting fatter damnit. managing my appetite is hard.
