Yeah just a skinned knee with a bunch of mud on it, and a slightly skinned elbow. Really minor.
Actually feels "good" to crash and not be all broken!!
I believe it about pro's blaming cat 1's for crashes; in Europe I'm sure it's the neo-pros that can't handle their bikes; at the World Championships it's guys that don't have rainbow stripes on their sleeves, etc.. it never ends. Always someone else's fault! Except this time, I have no one to blame..

Lol, yeah. I did crash twice since breaking the collarbone in July. But still, 2 rpm, even in 53/11 is like 0.4 mph.
But it is funny cause I imagined slipping and crashing into the mud on the side of the climb I did the other day.

Raining and cold. .looks like I'm stuck on the trainer for 2 hours. Wish I lived somewhere warmer, I don't mind the rain, but I can't handle the cold

Same here, 2.5hrs trainer. I'm going to wait til later in the day and see if it gets warm enough to deal with the wet, but having ridden into hypothermia before...riding indoors seems less stupid.

I was pretty sure earlier this week that I was going to be the first c1 this season who was unable to ride no-handed, but I've since discovered my headset bearing was one solid piece and I got much better right away!

Still a bit sore from Thursday nights workout, the DOMS hit the traps and lower back today. But went out for Spectrum ride.
Big ring is worn out (new one on it's way) so I can't stand and sprint or chain skips. Plan was to take it pretty easy (due to muscle soreness) and practice going for sprint points without really being able to sprint...
First sprint thought I had good position behind Fudgy, but then (of all people) he got gapped.
Second sprint Fudgy and 2 other I think were off the front, but I was going for the field sprint. I had good timing, but my sit-and-spin method was no match for @mattm who got me by several bike lengths.
Went on to chase the break, and just as the field caught me someone hit the deck and we all slowed a bit, then a few caught me off guard and took off to chase the break. To heck with taking it easy... I chased in no mans land for 10 minutes, only a few seconds back coming up on the final sprint and sure enough the break slows down 2 minutes out. Fudgy takes off early and gave up or something, Dirk and I come around - this time I cautiously stand but still had to keep torque low and couldn't match Dirk, who didn't even get out of the saddle lol.
Fun ride though.
Main ride 1:35, 232 AP, 279 NP
2:13 total, 150 TSS

Just over 100 mi this morning. Shootout plus Madera Canyon.
Those of you coming down to my neighborhood over the winter should really check out Madera Canyon, esp. if you plan to ride the Shootout as the climb up the canyon takes off from this ride and several people do that each week. As good as Lemmon but relatively unknown. It is a ~13 mile climb that gradually gets steeper with the end at 15%+. So beautiful up there as you enter into oak forest above the surrounding desert.

School is finished, thesis submitted yesterday, so started training again today with the Sac River Ride. Good to be riding again, but my fitness is severely depleted.
Tried some solo attacks, but failed miserably. Blew up sitting on the wheel of a strong racer when we were off the front. Haven't hurt like that in a while.

Spectrum ride - which was great, getting sprayed in the face by all the guys w/out fenders - then rode a few more hours with Fudgy and another team mate.
257 TSS, legs tired!
14.5 hours for the week so far, piling on more tomorrow.

I'm only at about 4.5 hours. I think this might end up being my second-lowest volume un-injured week this year.

you gotta look up the road more. The plan was to lead @mattm out but when he and another teammate were strongest 2 in a 5-man section ahead of me I let a gap open. I half-heartedly went for Dirk's wheel when he went by but when it was him, Nick and Matt, my ability to influence anything, and therefor my work, was done. Also, I saw you on my hip and I ain't working for you!
I got the fire station sprint from the 3-man move, and I was embarrassed that no one else appeared to be trying at the Stanford sprint so I sat up and 5 seconds later Dirk went by.

An hour on the rollers, my rear tire blew up about 10 minutes in. I knew the rubber was getting thin back there, figured it was no big deal since I will be on rollers or the trainer most of the winter. Was able to swap in a newer tire and finish off the hour. Nice to be back in the saddle, after a bit more than 3 weeks of inactivity (sickness + post-vasectomy recovery).

Legs were dead today, my midweek workouts were brutal and I didn't use power Tuesday or Wednesday so everything is thrown off. Four hours of very easy riding.
Tomorrow we're doing a Memorial Ride for a local Master's racer that got creamed by a car last year

I've ridden it a few times, the most memorable was with Matt Cooke, some dude from Switzerland that kept hating on Murrica's cheese situation, and a bunch of neopros. It kicks up in steepness so gradually and the landscape is so weird that you don't even realize you're climbing for like 2/3rds of it. It is quite pretty however.

I was wondering why you sat up at Stanford, Dirk and I were pretty much right behind you and it looked like you all wanted to sprint when you guys slowed up a couple minutes out (which I was hoping would happen, being too far back to catch up otherwise).
