asking why someone put something in quotes is hostile to you? XC isn't downhill, and gc is posting up TSS totals for his sessions which certainly seem to be indicative of him banging it out. It seemed odd. I asked why. Putting it in quotes somehow gives the impression that it isn't legitimate training, which it clearly it is.

this is going sideways. it seems like the quotes have three possible explanations it's "training" because i) it's not on the bike, ii) he doesn't think it's actually training, iii)has a bad habit of quoting "nouns"

regardless of the answer, you asking only serves to show that you disagree, so you should just say "training not 'training'", it'd be faster.

anyway I'm just itchy and so goddamn itchy. no harm meant.

and asking the question gives one the opportunity to explain their reasoning, if they choose. It's, uh, clarifying. I didn't realize things needed to be fast, or that I needed you as my conscience. Good to know

When you train at lunch how do you eat in relation to your workout. Nice tying about early morning is I don't eat until after I train.

I will eat my standard breakfast (this morning it was oatmeal), light snack of fruit and coffee around 10. On the bike at noon, back in the office and eating my lunch at my desk by 1:30.

when I train at lunch I eat breakfast beforehand, then eat lunch after the training. like ~600kcal immediately thereafter and then another 2-300/hour until deficit is gone.

it's funny, I have no issue training on an empty stomach in the morning…but by mid day I feel like I need a couple of meals in. It's totally got to be psychological.

3x9 over/unders. That was an oddly satisfying workout.

Need to either make the "over" harder, or go longer than 9 minutes...was targeting 90/110%..the last "over" of the last interval was at almost 120%.

I like those and plan on doing more. I definitely think I needed to start doing them a long time ago.

rhythms of the day. the few times I try to do hard rides after work in the summer I usually feel like I'm going to blackout from low blood sugar or something, despite having eaten more at lunch and more recently than when I eat breakfast and then ride 5 hours later.

our crit series here is hard for me in that the first race is late afternoon. I basically eat breakfast, then breakfast again around lunch time, then race at 4:30 or whatever. It sucks and I end up with a huge deficit after the 2 races, but eating more beforehand = feeling off my game in the race.

the p12 races should not be the last ones. I hated finishing the race to a vacant parking lot and the promoter closing down the tents.

BeIn sports. Coverage pretty much sucked tonight. They started the coverage at about 1.5k to go, covered the finish, then the first couple minutes of the race, and finally back to the podium.

Yeah, my favorite weeknight ride is the same day as the farmers mkt when my favorite taco truck comes. Learned the hard way that tacos al pastor don't taste so great the second time.

Took a week to just do easier z2 stuff, did threshold session yesterday, working off a 235 ftp now in trainerroad (3.4w/kg). Started at 200 in November so I'm happy with my progress so far

Wow, that is pretty much what I have scheduled tonight (except for the H of C). If I feel up to it, I'll prolly tack on 20 min SST with a 10s burst every 2 min at the end too.

Rest week over, time for a new training block, emphasizing threshold work. Fun.

Ominous coach emails about making sure I'm fully recovered, and back to back vo2 days. I think build is going to suck.

Today is a chilled out 1.5-2hrs.
