Good on ya, sstang. It feels good to push the pedals a little, huh?

I was going to do something meaningful today, but just didn't have the legs. Road for 1:45 endurance/tempo. Maybe I'll feel like it tomorrow. It was just one of those, "I don't get paid for this crap" days.

3.25hr upper z2/lower z3 w/ 2x~15min of unstructured tempo. Was only going to do 3hr but the police had shut down my route home, so had to add a bit more time. Oh well. Had a great ride. Averaged 3.6w/kg for the whole ride. Dunno where all this power is coming from.

Hill repeat (x5) loops. 1:50 total with 3,500ft. Decided to do this at the end. It was a silly idea. The last 1/5th of a mile has an average of 21.8% grade.

Last night: 2 hours with 2x30' and 1x15' in SST zone land. My legs felt comfortably tired when I got back home.

This morning: 15 minutes on the TT bike to work. Planning on 2 hours on the TT bike this evening, just easy spinning/zone 2.

2 hrs on my way into work this morning. Riding with a messenger bag full of **** for that long kind of sucks. Commute home should be ~35 minutes, but in a snow storm. Awesome. I am really ****ing tired of the cold.

Thanks. Yes it does, I was getting very anxious for this test, it's good to know where I'm at given that I have a big racing season ahead of me starting on the 29th!

Rest today, soo nice.

6 x 3 @118 then another 3 x 2 at the same level first thing this morning. Feels good to get a solid workout done before most people make it to the office.

WRI and then the long way home. #1 was strong >97% of 1 minute test power. #2 was very good. #3 &#4 were average, but really hurt. #5 sucked and I considered quitting. #6 was better than #5, but not really great. Glad I stuck it out. I always am. I just keep repeating to myself, "Don't think just do"

My trip home was about 1 hour. I kept cramping for the first 1/2 hour. No fun, that. By the last 30 minutes, though, I was back to holding a decent pace. Overall, feeling good about the ride.

1.3 hour commute, then commute to a team meet and greet with sponsors, then practice on the crit course for this Saturday.

So a US regional cycling rep was at the meet and greet (maybe in town for the crit this weekend?) and gave the keynote. He said that in the future (?) an upgrade from 5-> 4 will require a skills test and possibly from 4->3 as well.

Team training session (indoors). Tonight was a "race," one hour of various cadences and jumps according to the instructor, while trying to do the best average W/kg for the session possible. We had a bit of a contest going, $2 in the pot, beer to the winner. I didn't win, but I did average 3.5 W/kg for the hour. Not my true FTP, but if anything slightly lower thanks to all the accelerations we did. I tested at 3.25 for 20 minutes in January, so I'm pretty damn pleased. And not just for this coming season, that's a foundation to build on for the future. For context: that's at least 20 W added to all my zones as determined in January, and when you're starting at 189, that's a fair amount of increase. Very happy.

My legs were more fatigued last night than I expected, only did 90 minutes of cruising around.

That's a pretty legit workout. I have some pretty good fitness right now and not sure I could finish that without death.

And you and me both (though I've been roughing it outside in the dark). Looking forward to sunlight!!
