Lol I'm also more worried than I should be because my dad is saying that I shouldn't give up now after all of that training, and I'm taking it harder than I should. Also because it feels like I'm not really 'peaked', but more so just at a great point right now - 2 weeks ago my FTP test was much bettter than I was aiming for. I just didn't want to ruin that at all. Plus, I still got some 41 blood in my veins
@gsteinb - LOL, that made me laugh, I feel like an idiot now ....

If you had that time blocked out for riding outside, you could've used it - or part of it - for training inside. That "crap" you had put off could've waited.
Two-three hours at endurance pace is just this side of torture on a trainer. Given that any time on the bike is better than time off the bike in terms of maintaining fitness, mix stuff up. Example: Warm up at an endurance pace for a while, do a set of fast pedal drills (110-120 rpm, 30-60 seconds, same time RBI) at low resistance, go back to endurance pace for a while, do a 3x8' set of strength drills (tallest gear you have, 55-60 rpm) with four minutes RBI, back to endurance pace for a while, then maybe a longer tempo interval, then go into a warmdown. Whatever workout you come up with, write it down on masking tape with a Sharpie and stick it on your top tube so you have a reference and can keep yourself honest. Then make sure you record it in your training diary, either hard copy or online.
You owe me a beer.

I didn't ride yesterday. Too much work, and not enough time. It was probably a good thing. I did ride this morning, but not my normal Saturday. I'm racing tomorrow, so a bit abbreviated. I did some form sprints and 5 1/2 minutes of something over threshold. Kind of a 'blow out' effort. Legs are feeling pretty good. I'm about as good as I'm going to get for tomorrow.

Thanks for making it seem like 3 hours on a trainer could be a little less boring But that 'crap' I'm talking about is that english and biology homework that I put off all week to do things like my other riding and it must be done. I have a lot of it to do aswell! It's march break right now so I have no excuses.

well fiesta was interesting...
about half way through some dood veered of into the sand, causing himself to endo and causing a wreck including 4+ other riders, which I narrowly missed. There were broken bones and ambulances involved. I really hope the two guys who got taken to the hospital are OK. This is not a good way to start off this ride.
the next two laps consisted of people not knowing whether to continue hammering or soft pedal and chat. I just dialed it up to my LTHR and did a couple hot laps solo.

I'm still blowing the crap out of my legs from spring break. Went out for 2.5 hours of z2/z3 yesterday, and the same again this morning. I was very dehydrated yesterday. Felt like my heart was pumping gel. Today was better, 2 hours of z2/z3, but every effort was harder than it used to be. Hopefully I'll be back on track by the Tuesday Nighter.

New baby is coming in mid-April and I just got back from a 5 day training camp in Moab. My wife has made it clear that from here on out there will be no more weekend riding. For now it's gonna be as much riding as I can Monday-Friday at lunch and racing Tuesday Worlds when that series starts up. I've haven't trained sans weekend in a long time so this should be interesting...

did some mtb'ing w my neighbor. i borrowed a fully rigid SS from work to ride.
it was a lot of fun. the trails were very twisty, swoopy, green, with a good bit of climbing and not too many rocks on the decents. perfect.
in the middle of the ride, we moved over for, in sequence, a man, an adolescent boy and girl, and a women, all clipped in on xc-style rigs and moving at a steady pace. it was clearly a family.
if i had that id be the happiest dude alive

Did an hour of nothing. Went with a friend who brakes down hill, and moves at 15 km/h.. I was hoping for 2nd endurance but I guess like you guys say, any riding is better than none at all.

Team training camp through today, starting with an appetizer ride on Thursday. 189 miles, 17,000 feet of climbing, 11.5 hours, 4 days, 2 toasted legs. That's a big training week for me when it's spaced out over 7 days. First race of the 2013 season is next weekend. Bring it on.

Right scapula issue rearing it's head. Moved a chair last Monday. Now it feels like someone has placed a wedge between a rib and my scapula. I think the old dislocated rib may have popped out again. Training status - none.

Found out while getting a deep tissue massage yesterday I have some issues there as well. Then wrenched it pulling a 495 deadlift. F@CK

Just gotta keep it up. I get my choice of RRs next weekend, none of which are less than 2hrs away with 8AM start times. The one in Sonora looks fun.
