Valley style "hill" repeats: 5' ZCI efforts but I point it into the wind, use a really big gear and sit up with my hands on the tops as if I were grinding up a hill.

The time was faster, and no motors were involved: reasonable.

It's Strava, not a power meter or a bike race -- leader boards are stacked by elapsed time. No foul in enjoying a faster time.

My previous time was also with a group, though maybe not as organized. /shrug it hurt, was good training for, say, an uphill finish, and a hell of a lot of fun.

So every Strava segment will soon be owned by a TTT then...

Which is why they are largely irrelevant, but still fun (imo, anyway).

Driveway series 3/4 and P123 last night, on a 2 turn course. I did a lot of work in the first race, NP of 250~. I had a teammate who offered to move me up for the finish, but he kept missing free rides to the front and was freewheeling. We went though the S/F in mid-pack and it didn't look like we were going anywhere anytime soon, so I shouted up that I'm just gonna pull off here, and I did. (I landed on a bike pile last week. I was in no mood for last-lap shenanigans)

2nd race I just hung on for 1 hour, sprinting every half-lap at the turnaround. A lot of the heavy hitters were out this week so there were times when it resembled a cat 3 race. The last lap was just stupid, stupid fast; a guy from Bissell won.

Racked up a ridiculous amount of time in Z6 and Z7. My legs hurt today.

Many are owned by a TTT until a pro comes along and stomps it solo. Ignore it and ride for yourself, or get some friends out and go for it.

Luckily, my favorite segment is still mine... in spite of 700+ riders on it, and I got it solo.

Really easy to pick these off unless someone really puts in a lot of effort to mask it.

Nice work -- great training for brain and legs.

Did some team practise stuff last night on the speedway, it consisted of a 2 handicap races, 2 handicap TTT's and a one lap sprint. In order: on the first race I was in a group with 2 others, for the first 3 laps I was working well with them, than on the fourth and fifth lap I noticed I had ~ 5-10 meter gap so I decided instead of slowing down and helping them out I'd put the pressure on, so I solo'd the rest of the way (10 laps total) and was doing great until I got passed on the last lap by four people..it sucked but I think I did great. On the TTT my group of 3 did fine, could have gone harder though. And the last race my group just got killed by the hammerheads and I tried for like 6 laps but couldn't catch up to them, finished top 10 nonetheless. I felt great and stronger than ever last night and also found out my max HR has gone up by one for the second time this week..

2x20 in high z3 today. 4.47 w/kg for the first and 4.457 w/kg for the second. I was physically exhausted before the rid, but after two pedal strokes of the first interval i felt fine, and the intervals didn't really hurt until the last minute of the second 20 minutes.

It's part of training for many of us racers. I was getting Strava advice from a friend who's finished 7 tours, during a race training discussion It's not a critical component, but it is training entertainment. There's a stupid music thread in here, and food too.

4 hours today with the Shootout in the middle.
Looking at my numbers is making me realize that I need to focus on short intervals. Will see how that goes...

2:20 won a 6.60 km route for a total of 933 meters of climbing, that's quite a bit around here. Legs are still feeling it from Thursday but I managed to complete 2 loops both exactly at 12:00 minutes. I'm happy with that. I have to learn how to eat and ride fast loops get boring after 2 hours on them lol

Edit (knew I forgot something): I picked up a set of shimano rs80 c50 wheels today to demo. They're great! I feel so much faster on the flats, and they're hot too. I'm most likely going to make the purchase Monday. And for all the weight weenies out there, I dot care because I live in an undulating country, no real climbs that'll hold me back.

did a 2hr mtb ride on my co-worker's hardtail 29er stumpjumer w full xtr and carbon bits. first ever mtb ride on a 29er.

all i gotta say is wow. i felt so much more comfertable and confident over rocks at speed and small "hits" than im used to. i can see how it's not as maneuverable as a 26" rig but man it was fast

rest week almost over and im anxious to ride more and ride hard again. good sensations.

My legs felt tired for some reason. 90 minutes today with 2x10' at threshold. Good enough.

3:15 with a junior on my team who lives right next to me. My legs were dying, and his were fresh . Lucky i was able to convince him to take it easy on me and only make me do one 500 watt 2 minute hill climb (RAWR)!!!!! Oh well 130 something or other tss. Took it really easy for the most part except for the major head wind on the way home (he weighs about 135 lbs so i can't get much draft )
