Daaaang. Got a street name? Might be worth checking out for the shorter efforts; Dyer Observatory is about a 5 min. climb (for me, this time of year, etc).
I've been doing threshold work for about a month now, so it's not completely horrible, but yeah. Those first short intervals are nasty. And the climbing has a major strength element, it's getting my lower back as well as my legs.
Sort of; from what I can tell, Fouche Gap is a bit longer and shallower (1.1 miles, 7.9%) and has a fairly regular gradient. But I've never been there. Fouche Gap will probably take a little bit longer to climb.
Pulltight is too long a ride from Nashville for me to arsed, if I'm planning hill repeats. If you want pain, that can easily be found at N. Berrys Chapel or LAnwood, both around Brentwood, south of Hillsboro. Another good test climb is Poplar Creek, out in Bellevue.

I was with my best training partner one day and when we got to the top of pull tight he Gerri call someone which turned out to be much longer than expected. So I did pull tight 5 times I think. That was after floyd, Choctaw and cross keys left us with a bunch of others heading back into the boro. Pull tight is fun.

jsut: No PM ..........
Yotsko: Yaa but my dad spoke with a guy at my LBS and they have some wheels that they can hook me up with, I lack the details right now, but I have time.. and PM's are just out of my $ right now (I know wheels are just as much, but wheels are where it's at for me right now). After I get them, PM is definitely next in line!!
Currently my wheels are TR18 Weinmann's and my tire's are vitorria rubino pro's...the trainer has ocompletely worn the back one out though.

You actually just read my mind, maybe instead of getting a wheelset and pm, something like a powertap would be a better deal overall in the longrun. And who needs to look good? Even my pictures are blurry

i thiiknk a pm helps more than race wheels
my race wheels never made me stronger, just marginally faster in a race. i did however gain 50 watts for my ftp suign a pm.

9 x 2 this morning. Felt good. Walked up stairs slowly all day as a precautionary measure.

Two hours today.
6x3' up a local hill, each one at about 320w. Not the best I can do, but it still hurt.
Then did a 10' "cruise interval" on a flat-ish road, also felt surprisingly good given the 15.5 hours last week.
Crit this weekend.

I'm coming off a travel/rest week. Yesterday I did a 20 minute test. Legs weren't 'open' as I hadn't ridden in a couple days, but whatever. I ended up 1.5 Watts off my best ever. It's kind of where I knew I was at, but it was good to see anyway. My pacing sucked. I went out way too hard, and then was junk for a few minutes at the end. I was able to ramp out up a little in the last 2 minutes, though. Oooooph. It hurt, but in a good way.

1:15 on the extended commute. About 30F when I left this morning. Again with the cold toes. I did not heed the advice given last time for the plastic bags. I certainly will tonight.

Just went back thru the calender…I've been on my bike 11 times in the last 3 months and today was the first day on in 48 days..
This is not how I intended my 2013 season to go…Good news, I am the lightest i've been in 7 months though.
here's to a late peak for states!

bummer. are you ok?
90 minutes of tempo today. Freezing at noon at the start but it got up to 37. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 60 and I'm supposed to rest but screw that, I'm riding. THis is how I end up not having rest days - it's cold and I do my workout, then it's warm and I fail to do my rest day.

Making a kilometer blurry
Not much time today at lunch, so I just went out and ripped up three ~1 minute hills. Legs torched, as these were all-out.

yeah definitely glad it wasnt a race crash...would have been so much worst.
im still recovering, ill definitely miss a crit race i really wanted to do this saturday (grant's tomb crit). the bike was mostly okay - cosmetic scratches on the right shifter/hood area, minor scratches back part of saddle, rear derail hanger bent inward a bit, wheels were okay, no cracks on the frame. back part of the jersey has some rips (biggest rips are by middle pocket) but still usable, holes small enough so things won't fall out. one thing i did notice tho was that one the painful ride home, my garmin500 started beeping, usually never beeps. kept telling me my hr was too high which is bogus because i felt fine and was going at a super slow pace, not breathing hard at all etc. hoping the erroneous hr spikes dont happen again on my next ride (hopefully by next week).
my new expensive (for me) helmet is dunzo. cracked foam at one section. it did its job. i got it special ordered through the sponsoring local bike shop and getting a new one tomorrow.
one thing im worried / stressed about is not the crit race but the wedding this saturday. i need to be able to perform for 12 hours (im a wedding photographer). really hoping i regain most of my mobility back by friday night../sat morning.

Just take it easy and rest. Don't worry about ATL, CTL, or TSB. If your fitness takes a dip, so be it. Heal up first. Good luck.
