55 miles in the rain, 200 TSS.

It was supposed to be an EPIC group ride put on by Thunderbird Energetica (energy bars), but they cancelled 30 minutes before the ride with a Facebook post (From bed, I'm sure.) Anyway, my team had 4 riders and that was basically the biggest showing, so we took it upon ourselves to lead a pack of about 20 on the ride anyway. It was supposed to be a 100 miler, but with the rain we decided to cut it early and head back after the first water stop to make it about 50 instead. Good thing, as I did NOT put enough vaseline on my sack. Ouch ouch chaffing ouch by the time we got back to the shop.

I PR'ed 1 minute at the end of the ride, on a steep Strava segment I was trying to KOM. Turns out I did about as good as last time: 10th overall. (Probably had too many bottles and frame pumps and spare tubes n'stuff. I'm sure that was it)

I think the sun is coming out now

4hr zone2 effort friday and 3 hour zone 5 effort today with a local team. Weird "soreness" pain behind my right knee. Salt bath and foam roller don't seem to do much. Hoping it's just because ive been off the bike for a week with illness.

1.5hrs, 20'ish miles,
TSS = 95.

Went out break my 5min PR. Did it on a hill segment, eeked out 358W. I was happy with the results, I had to kind of limp around after that though because my whole body hurt, a lot. I went way too hard at the start and toward the end was having a hard time hanging on.

Tomorrow, super easy, fun ride with the team Excited

3 hrs with some efforts thrown in. Legs felt prett much terrible. Not sure how I'll be doing monday at the state crit. Tomorrow gonna do about 30 minutes easy just to keep the legs open. Then pray I can hang on in the crit with enough left over to do a kilo attack.

3hrs with the wife doing some endurance/tempo riding...

Took a good 60min for my legs to come to life, but after that it was smooth sailing...

I needed that!

Yesterday was about 3 hours of digging out concreted in bird house posts. Today was 2 hours of good feeling tempo this morning, been working on the yard about 2.5 hours since. Almost done. Off tomorrow.

77 miles with 6300ft of climbing. Team/group hilly hammerfest.

NP = 245 W
TSS = 282

My body is hurting, a lot. I honestly didn't expect to hammer up every single climb..Time to eat some ice cream...

Yesterday I did 3.5 hours tempo with hill repeats (rattlesnake - ouch!). Today was easier with my dad for 3 hours to preview next week's race loop. Total of 15 hours this week, this has been a fun week for me. Sort of a rest/endurance week which will be the same for the first half of next week and then racing starts again. It's amazing what bringing some food on a long ride can do for you!

As a side note: I checked one of my KOM strava segments just to see what's up and this is what I found:

https://app.strava.com/activities/56471410#1035584158

Seems legit......I got some training to do!

Gotta love folks who don't know how to switch off their Garmin before jumping in the car.

Yesterday, did my 1st MTB races. Short track first (by the way, showing up to a Cat 3 MTB race with road fitness is kind of outrageously unfair), good anaerobic endurance workout there. Then cross-country, which was tempo combined with a full-body beating. I didn't win that one, first got my clock cleaned by an 11 year-old kid, then passed by another guy in my age group after flatting halfway through my second lap. Apparently, one should carry flat fix materials in MTB racing, as a flat doesn't mean you re out of contention. Which blew this roadie's mind a bit. Yeah, I don't get XC racing. Short track makes more sense - it's like a cyclocross race, with more traction and less dismounting.

I set two Strava KOM's this week. I was riding pace on one and I was climbing at under race pace on the other. I am so impressed with myself.

saturday: I'm stupid...330 np for 2 hours.....and max cadence of 145 on dead flat ground...I should have sat in more. Bone head move

Sunday: Hill repeats. they hurt, but i knocked out a bunch, then rode home, and even was part of the memorial day parade in my little town

Monday: Rode witha couple teammates. One has offered to motorpace me this summer, and considering how i have the Sat Subject Tests, and ACT coming up soon, this might be my only chance for high speed/high cadence/high power work.

this makes no sense. You have the tests in early June, i presume, which means you have the rest of the summer to write your essays and motropace
