You and I are in different worlds. In a crit a 400 meter hill, meaning of pavement and not elevation, is to me the end of my race.

Thanks. I crashed on lap2 after clipping a wheel. Both my front and rear wheel went out of true, handlebars crooked, jersey shredded, helmet had a big dent and I felt very confused.
My wife met me by the barriers as I was attempting to get off the course. One of the race organizers said something about not being able to get off the course at that point; he pointed over to the pits and told me I had to ride over there to get off the course. I banged my handlebars as straight as I could, opened up the brake calipers to stop the wheels rubbing, and rode off.
When I got over to the pits, another organizer told me I could take a free lap. In my semi-concussive, confused state, I just sat there and waited for the field to ride by.
I sat in for the rest of the race. On the last lap, I jumped with 500-600meters to go, passed the moto ref, and didn't look back.

WR - it looks like you could have pulled down the austin rocks sign as you were going by.

Here are a couple cross pics from this last season.
On the hill to the finish to win the Rainer Cross Crusade, 35+A
My team mate and me before I pulled away to win the PIR Cross Crusade, 35+A
I have some cool road ones on my computer at home that I'll have to look for.

dont follow?
i just mean that the kind of race i am i rarely win at the finish line, and was bummed that the single time it happened there was no camera.
its was thrilling feeling.
more satisfying that waiting for the results to get posted on the portapotties to find out if you won.

Biggest win in my 4 years of racing was Tour de Winghaven (at the time an NRC race) in 2009. This was my 4th race as a 5 in a 4/5 field. Teammate led me out and we went 1-2. We are still teammates, though on a different team now, and have both moved up to 2's.
This is from my 2nd or 3rd race that I ever did as a cat5.
This is me kicking off a sprint to win after 87 miles came down to a sprint finish. Hellbender RR. I took 2nd in the crit the day before and won the overall omnium. Good weekend that kicked of a great season last year.
No finish line pic, but my last win came at the cat3 IL State RR last year.

Walburg 2013. I love this pic because, even though I wasn't celebrating, in the background the person with her arms up in the air is my wife. She had just finished her first race about 15 minutes earlier. She's been coming to my races for years, supporting me in any way she can and for her, it was special to see me get a win.
