About the sleeves? I think sleeveless is okay for TT but for mass start you need sleeves. I don't know for sure.

I'm pretty sure the race requirement stands.

I plan on doing the official's clinic on the 16th? in Bloomfield. I figure I should be better at reciting stuff by then.

Mediums generally. (Sorry I can't come shovel tomorrow...)

Thanks for all the information guys. I'm not TOO concerned about it, but if given the opportunity to follow rules versus violate them, I prefer the former. Having officials look the other way or ignore certain 'minor' infractions is fine, but I am happiest when I can avoid putting someone in a position where they have to make that judgment call, which is one reason why rulebooks exist.

Now excuse me while I go get the headphones I'm going to wear when I race. I'm planning to use the in-wire mic to talk to other racers and I want to make sure the wire won't interfere with my camelback.

Of course this will all matter very little when I get spit out the back after lap 1.

I'm pretty sure the Primal Tuxedo Jersey is allowed in races. I'd recommend that.

I have a quick related question: what about bibs and shorts? I have a team jersey but didn't like the feel of the bibs, so I don't have those. Should I stick to wearing black? Or would something like my hammer bibs be acceptable?

I am pretty sure that in my first race as a cat 5 I wore an old Saeco team jersey that I had picked up for like $20 on clearance. At the time, I didn't know the rules about jerseys. IIRC, I wore it for the TT because it was my tightest fitting jersey at the time and I wanted my clothing as aero as possible. That jersey is too big for me now.

I wore the kit for my (then) coaches organization before I joined a team, and nobody cared. They treated it like a manufacturer's logo. I never realized it was a rule until I was at a race and someone objected to someone else, who was wearing a team jersey when it was no longer their team. So I looked up the rule. I think I raced another couple of times, in Cat4, before the season ended, then joined a team before the following season.

If you're wearing sleeveless at the Bethel 5 race, I'll be impressed. It's supposed to be about 30 degrees at the start.

I think that's generous. Account for the inevitable wind chill and it's going to be a cold morning. Here we go.

I can tell you this. It will be a hell of a lot colder at 8am for the Cat5 clinic than it will be at 11:45 for the M45+ race.

I wear plain black bibs and black jersey. Both have holes from previous crashes so I dont have to sweat it and most guys would stay away from me because they know I'm dangerous

... the good thing is that I always have an extra space around me

Saw a dude a couple of years ago pulled from the 5's for wearing a Saxo-Bank jersey. I think it really depends on the official and how strict they are locally.

Sorry for the Zombie thread, but it's kinda relevant to my question.

Im not attached to a cycling club, but was thinking of getting my rugby club's logo silk-screened onto a plain blue jersey I have. Will this present a problem if I should choose to enter a local race at some point in the future?
