So... who knows how long it takes this Ron Rouse guy to respond to upgrade requests? Submit Monday, get approved by week's end? Or should I hold off on registering for Red Kite?

Nevermind that. Red Kite was "postponed"!
I was looking forward to my first cat 4 race. I guess I'll do the Early Bird again.

Would have been fun, but I coached a gym meet at noon.
There are 2 options next Saturday: Folsom crit, or seaside bay view circuit race (cccx road series #1 ). Iwas leaning Seaside because I can race twice. But way more people are prereged for Folsom.

I was gonna do the Folsom crit but might do CCCX instead, since I need to get back in town early. But that Seaside course is so boring!

Cherry Pie. Wind as well. Google says 10 mph. Any experience on turn 1 after coming down a 10% hill with a 10 mph tail wind in the rain? The turn doesn't look too bad on Google street view:

I've watched a few of the YouTube race videos from the course and the turn looks pretty mild. However, those were all in dryer conditions. It looks like there is a bit of a gutter/dip at the entrance to the turn that should make things extra fun with wind and rain.

Playing with the idea of racing cherry pie... Not sure about a 50+ field of 4's in the rain.

This is the first time I've ever seen a race cancelled b/c of rain - but it kinda makes sense, given that it's a 180 turn at the bottom of a hill on what would supposedly be slick pavement. That would make that course extra sucky.
The nice thing is that everyone has to deal with the wind!
I'm more thinking about the paint strips at the corners, hopefully they aren't too slick. Just stay on the inside for turns so nobody takes you out if they go down.. and you can take everyone out if you go down.
