I thought about it. I have had good results there (and the ugly VeloPromo t-shirt to prove it). But it's a busy family weekend and I would be stretching spousal tolerance to be away for a bike race 3 weekends in a row.
If you go, mind the Botts Dots.

Yup! Crit for sure, on the fence for the RR.
I like that crit course - and we have a real pro signed up for the p/1/2/3's so that should be fun. Mtn Quebeka(?) guy, looks like more of a climber/tt guy so we'll see how it goes. My battle plan is to be in the break that laps the field like last year.

I'm out. 6 races the past 2 weekends, working this weekend, and still recovering from being ill. I thought I was 100% better, but here at work today they want me to sit upright. I hadn't counted on this being so hard.

So I've heard. I've become more comfortable with them, but worry being around others that are less comfortable around them and either try to dodge them last minute or roll over them poorly. Oh well...went ahead and signed up for both days.

In the RR, all you really need to mind is the wind. Ugh, that wind.. if it's anything like last year, there was one crosswind section that really sucked - especially after our small field shattered and I found myself on the wrong end of it.

Noted...our field will probably be around 40 or so and if it is like any other 4 race i've done this year, we'll cruise for 98% of it and then all try to sprint for the line. So, I'll take shelter near the front.

I was thinking of skipping the crit because it's a bit of driving. May do the road race though.

This will be my last race until mid June, and even then with three weeks off the bike...
Fun fact. The last time I did that race 5+ years ago I ended up with a fractured wrist. It pays dividends to stay near the front.

Looks like I won't be doing either race. I got knocked over in the sprint today at a practice crit and there's some bike damage and a good bit of skin left on the road.

Posted in training. Basically, I worked way too hard the final 5 minutes (125%). Then waay long sprint, I went for ~18 seconds and ran out of steam (probably had to go another 15 - 20 seconds). Hit peak speed of 35 and 12 seconds later was down to 30, a guy really wanted to cut in front of me (don't blame him for that lol) but there was no room and he just knocked me over.
Oh, and I could hear/feel my helmet scraping along the pavement. Good thing it was there!

My guess is he won't win, or really try to win.. he will probably try to go off the front, but I don't think he'll just ride away from us.
He's just doing it for training I bet.

Any of you old enough to remember the Cat 4 Challenge that was held in Livermore?

That reminds me. I need to sign my son up for the juniors race. He can only race once, but I have the choice of 5. I guess I could do the back to back to back to back to back. How many TSS would that be?
