1 They like hills and pretty places where the roads are still kinda paved.
2 They started Cascades Classic - kinda.
3 They act like they recognize me.
4 They pay cash to juniors.

This reminds me, I forgot to pick up a T-shirt after Salinas crit. It had goats on it, or something.
So Moesto RR, flat and windy?

I respect people privacy and what they do inside their motorhome is their own business.
I would have loved some wool products instead of allegedly 21 dollar t-shirts. Actually looks like I won two tshirts, one for prim and another for placing top 6.
Hmm, so switch to regular wheels or run my regular 50mm tubulars?

I got two shirts and $30 cash for my eforts. I felt bad about taking the cash, not huge fields. Promoter owed me an ancient debt though so I didn't feel THAT bad.
You want to make a few bucks go to the midwest or Texas. Envelopes instead of T Shirts.

It's not about the money, just the advertised 150 bucks in merchandise and you get t-shirts with sheep.
Although yeah, you are right fields were super small. Bad timing on their part to put it on same weekend as Golden State.

Promoter is PJ Ciccarelli who is linked to Velo Promo on web search. I think that is PJ holding the bike my picture up top.

I got an envelope earlier this year. It had a ten dollar bill in it. Almost paid for the calories I burned at the race.

Speaking of money. RedKites peeps flagged me down after my race and refunded me the money I payed for day of registration. Apparently I was already preregistered.
I have absolutely no recollection of doing that.

One constant across most sports is people don't care for the announcers.

I prefer Dave Harmon to carleton kirby, but at least carleton doesn't need to be prompted to remember eat race he's announcing. I can't watch the feed if Phil or Paul are commentating without muting it. I've chosen to watch grainy video with Dutch commentary instead of HD TV in English before because the commercials and Phil and Paul are so bad.

How are the Modesto RR roads?
I'm asking about the pavement/width, pot holes, rocks, along with rocks and thorns - this time of year, etc. . Not so much the terrain and wind.
Knights Ferry was not good for us, but 3/4 of that issue was rain.

Much better than Knights Ferry. Gravel in the corners and shoulders and there are some undulations here and there. The potholes that are out there were obvious and avoidable with the course being closed to traffic. There is one really bad road (Bacon Road) that has broken up pavement on both sides of the road. There is also one canal crossing (not elevated) on William that has a decent break in the pavement (perpendicular to direction of travel) that could be a flat tire magnet. They are valley farm roads though, so its a total crapshoot on things like thorns, glass, etc.

Now pre-riding 17-18 National coarse Monday instead of Friday which is supposed to be rainy and 40 degrees. We live in SoCal - can't do 80 miles in that.

The sickness is no fun, how he recovers quickly. It really drained me. Got a ride in yesterday and today and I'm gassed. If there isn't some improvement over the next few days, I'll probably pass on Modesto.

I figured if we just road more in NorCal there would be no drought.
We went up for Knights Ferry and it poured. Well that was "winter".
Planned this Friday - and canceled because of predicted weather.
Still planning on Modesto Crit Sat and RR.
Now Monday in Truckee.

Damn, I'm supposed to go up to Donner Sun-Tues. That forecast is making me rethink those plans....
