that's the motivation for getting your upgrade.
Going to do a beer tour of the Anchor Brewery on Sat. then SJBC on Mon. In the past i would have gone up to folsom. but my new rule is my driving time cannot exceed my racing time for a particular event

I'm doing the memorial day crit. It's been a while since I raced with 5's, should be interesting.
I was thinking about doing Hamilton earlier in the season, but I've been slacking off these past few weeks on training and my weight is creeping up, so I'm foregoing it for more training miles.

Honestly, the 4s this year have not been terrible, the notable exceptions being Bariani where someone (I'm told it was a junior but I didn't see it) crashed out a big chunk of the field with 500m to go, and caused all my teammates to go down, one of which had a spinal fracture, and also a guy at Coppertown circuit race that rode straight into the wheel in front of him coming into the 180 on the first lap.
Otherwise, the packs have seemed to me less sketchy than last year. That or I'm learning to be more aware of what's going on around me.

There were a lot of very nervous looking riders in the pack but most of them stayed near the rear. I was there for 2 laps before I decided I wanted no part of it and moved up. Luckily the gaps were huge and it was really easy to gain positions.
Things were looking good for me until I got squeezed to the inside on the 2nd to last corner and had to hit the brakes. Made up as much as I could but came in 20th.
On to dash for cash. Am I reading correctly that they have an e2/3/4 field?

I've done it a couple times now. Didn't seem any worse than any other crit I've done. Wiiiiiiidddeeee open square course and $10 primes every lap, what could go wrong?
I'll go because there are a lot of categories I can jump into.
