I did it last year but was in a break half the time so no crashes. Will do it this year if the leg feels up for intensity.

Yeah it was never that crashy. Erik alway called it "Crash for Cash" but I think he just liked saying that.
Hell even when it was a 2/3/4 field I don't think anyone crashed..

I'll be easy to find. I'm the fat guy squeezed into a bright ass orange kit with lots of team mates in that field. Don't be afraid to say hi!

Should be a good course for you to get a result. A lot like Modesto, but with a longer sprint in to the finish (prob like 200m). Just be assertive and come out of that last corner 2nd or 3rd wheel and gun it (sounds so easy ...)

Shoot ... I might be doing the 35+ 123 based on time (Cat 3s go at like 3PM).

Me too. I could register for the 35+, 45+, and E3 race but due to family logistics I'm only going to be able to do the 35+. Which is going to be the hardest of the three by far. I told my wife not to expect me to win any wine for her. I'll probably just be hanging on for dear life.

Looks like the most common route is up and down Hwy 1 (~30 out and 30 back). Will dig around to find some ride reports and try to convince the wife that the route is "safe". She's become hyper aware of my road choices lately and has been attempting to ban some routes.

there is no "safe" route on the road. or on mountain bikes. Going fast on a bike has some risks. That's why it's so fun!

The racing is fine since its on closed roads. Her new concern is my getting smashed by a car. The concerns are most likely driven by the second of the two scenarios presented by Spdnxtri
