Some of the worst crashes I know about have been on centuries and fondos. A buddy of mine broke his hip when some Fred freaked out on the gravel of the Meet Your Maker ride Saturday. There was the rider who was hit by a truck on the Davis Double. Fudgy's right: going fast has risks no matter what the ride.

Just came across this. Whoever is speaking for NCNCA here does not come off as very far-sighted!

^that whole thing is a mess. The NCNCA didn't seem to do much to help their cause and the author comes across like a pouty 13 year old.

At any rate it does seem lame that "we" wouldn't let "them" race in our champs race..
But also not worth a huge diatribe. I'm filing this one under #complainingmastersguys

lol.
that author is a pouty boy. There are 900 other races up here that they could race. For districts or "state" or whatever the hell, I sort of agree with Phipps. Raced together/scored separately sucks.
As far as "complaining master's guys".. this was about elite districts - cat 1/2, so not really applicable! @mattm !

the district also prohibited pro riders. I saw at least two turned away at registration. So unfair!

Seems like that should be posted by "SCNCA" since they're from Socal wanting to race up here.

The way we do it around here is anyone can race but only state (or regional, we have both) licensed members are eligible for state (or regional) awards. I see no point in denying race entry for out of area riders unless there is a risk that the field will fill and eligible riders will be denied entry to their championship race. That's rare around here and thus we haven't see it as long as I have been involved.
However nobody will probably know this and NorCal will go down in history as weird..

One of us is yeah.
Two of our 1's are not US nationals, one is just not doing it for whatever reason, one is @Ygduf with work excuses, and I'm on the mend.

Hey guys, how is the NorCal/SanFran region in terms of bike riding and amount of races? I'll be moving there late 2016 / early 2017 when my current work contract expires here in New England.

Most races will be within an hour or 2 with a few being 3 or 4 hours.

So close to the RR Wed. Still several are doing it, but seems like more in Truckee are not.
Some technical items are rather interesting...
-17-18s MAY also do the Cat 1 - but they are the same day.
-College showcase is during the 17-18 race, so the kids they want to talk to are a bit busy. Guess it's for dads.
-Road Race shows CCW direction through Sierraville, while RideWithGPS map shows clockwise (I'm going to verify again after this post).
-Where is the feed zone?
Pretty fun with so many teams up here now. A few teams stick to themselves. The Limitless boys came by and picked up Daniel and Brandon. Good vibe.

It's something to dream about. My strava graph dips down considerably in the wintertime whereas all my CA friends have a much more consistent showing all year round : ( My family is all in/from the Stockon/Sacramento area but being near the beach with a bike is love itself.
@hack Surprised at how organized this is, thanks for the link.
