Need help! Getting started to road racing
In april , there is a stage race called Joe Martin Stage race in fayetteville , ar. I am fairly new to road racing and this will be my first race if ever i can join it. My question is since i am new to road racing , is Men category 5 the right category? Do i need a license to join if i race alone? any tips or advices? I heard you can upgrade to Cat 4 if you do 10 races not really sure how they track your races. Im a little confuse. Need your expert opinions. Thanks

Yes.
No, you can race on a one-day license (although this is a Stage Race, not sure if that also applies)
Don't crash.
They don't track your races, you do. Keep track of which ones you finished, and that's what you submit when it's time to upgrade.

Nice! Joe Martin will be one of my A races for the year! Matt covered most of it, but are there any other races which you could do before hand to gain some experience (ie. why wait until Joe Martin to start)?
