Brakes for 25mm wide wheels

I just purchased a set of 25mm wide carbon wheels, but the SRAM Apex brakes I am running do not seem wide enough for them.

Could you guys please recommend brakes that are wide enough for 25mm wide wheels?

Thank you!

I'm surprised the Apex don't fit. I've got 25s and use Force without issue.

It's not the tires, but rather the rims. Two things: sram red (the older silver ones would do) or move the nut holding the brakepad holder from inside the arms to outside of the arm

Thanks echappist. That seems to have added just enough width to work. Is there any risk running the brakes this way long term or should I still plan to buy a wider set of brakes?

Thanks again!

You are welcome.

I got this tip from @caloso, and i had to use it even on a sram red brake as the brake track on the stinger 6 is 28mm wide.

there isn't any disadvantages, unless you plan on swapping between a 19mm wide rim and a 25mm wide rim.

Odd...I didn't have to do much at all to fit my 25 carbon wheels (wider is so much nicer, too) with the Force calipers. Just released some tension on the cable and it looked like I could fit up to 28+ with ease. Only a few twists of the barrel adjusters to snug things up if I switch out wheels to the 23mm alloys.
