Was targeting this event, but my son's daycare is having their spring recital, so parental duties trump getting my butt handed to me in a race!

However, I am thinking of doing sunapee, since I'm a complete failure and won't be going to commencement that is scheduled that same weekend.

Pulled the plug on Orchard Beach. Wifely relations were getting a bit strained. Need to take the occasional weekend off of racing.

I can probably make it to either -- but not both -- of the CT Masters Games May 30, or the CT state crit June 6, both at New Britain. Which would be more fun?

doesn't seem to be a very well attended event in your age group, GC.

If I recall the Masters game was in horrible conditions. Having said that all the NY folks seem to show up for Nutmeg due to some ridiculously high value primes (for the P123 anyway).

Masters Games is an NSG qualifier, and you are eligible for the state medal. You can race two TT's and a crit. Nutmeg you can race multiple crits. You are not eligible for the jersey.

They are run simultaneously. It's a 40k race with a halfway sprint.

Ah, I didn't scroll down. I think it was 19 racers in my age bracket, I'm 47, but anyway it sounds like the state crit is likely to be the more interesting one.

[edit] er, 22 starters and 3 quit after 20k? Sounding weirder all the time.

I'm in heavy negotiations for fairgrounds racing tonight. A deal is currently looking unlikely but you never know until the white smoke comes out of the chapel.

I'm considering the TT for the CT Master's. Do people go all TT on it, with the suit, helmet, shoe covers etc.?

Your loss. Fast and furious baby. I raced like a berserker on meth. I attacked everything. I attacked and then went with the counter to my attacks. I chased, bridged, and attacked myself. 8th place or something.

Honestly I think I have more fun at these races than at the weekend races. Maybe it's because there's no pressure, or maybe it's because it's a 1/2/3 field. Maybe I should do masters and 1/2/3 on the weekends instead of masters and 3/4.
