About 25 minutes of Z5 intervals in a 90 minute ride. They just finished paving my favorite <6 minute interval road, which makes me very happy. I knew where every pothole and seam was on that road, now it's just like butter. Black, slightly tacky butter.
Feeling close to 100% after a few days of being sick. Headache and face pain is gone, eyelid is still weirdly swollen, went to the doc this morning, he says it's either nothing or else something exotic and awful, he's setting me up with a specialist. I think it's probably nothing.

Darn it, 80% chance of thunderstorms at Rockleigh start time. It rained last week too, though they raced in the rain anyway, to my surprise (I didn't go).

Rockleigh is a great race. I was actually thinking last night that next year I might try going for the series cup. It's a totally legit P123 race but it's a long series so you can do well overall with a bunch of consistent top 10s even if you never see the podium.

If the forecast stands up they won't race. I wouldn't make the drive unless the forecast is radically different at 3pm, or if they announce on facebook that they are definitely racing.

Although, I did buy a cross bike, so there is a whole other thing there...

I think the last trophy I have from rockleigh is 2009 or so. The last few year years it's been duked out between pretty good 1s with the late great zack koop winning again and again.
Starting to wonder if I'll get there at all this year.

Good to see you back around.
The guy who won the first series this year never finished better than 3rd. In fact none of the cup podium finishers won a single race in the series. The most dominant team this year and last is probably Foundation but they don't get the same guys there every week. Plus Rockleigh gets the domestic pro journeyman types who show up, win a race, and are never seen again. Anyway, I seriously doubt I could win the series but I think one could do well just by showing up every week and being consistent.
His parents still come to every race. It's quite touching.

I was looking forward to Liberty Tour but it turns out I have to drive my kid to the Red Bulls FC soccer camp, which he is practically vibrating with excitement about. So no race for me. Planning on Rockleigh this week, but I haven't done a weekend race since White Plains.
