Hope the conditions aren't too bad up there. I decided to pass on Bear and will probably do the Wilmington crit next weekend before easing up for KSR.

The cold was worse than the rain. My Garmin said the temp were hovering in the low 40s all day. I was shivering the last half of the race.

I dropped out with 1 lap to go. I was still with what was left of the lead group, I just couldn't feel anything above my waist.

2nd! spent the first three laps thinking i was going to get dropped (seriously i felt awful), made the selection on the last lap, and just happened to time the sprint right (one dude attacked OTF of our group and I won the field sprint). i'm as surprised as anyone! made the three miserable hours in the rain totally worth it.

for those who haven't seen, the finish at the KSR circuit race has been changed from a 50mph downhill sprint to something more reasonable, a sprint by sky ship on rt100.

FOMO for KSR ramping up. It's a real shame I can't do it. For the best, given my current "fitness," but man, that finish will be so much less horrifying now! And HARD, with that rolling to slightly uphill run in to Sky Ship.

i'm really excited about it. especially because i now consider myself a sprinter (sarcasm) it's gone from a finish i avoid at alecosts to a finish i think i might have a decent chance of doing well in.

You don't have big sprint watts, but you're good at positioning yourself and you've got enough left in the tank after a long hard race to still do something. And that's what matters.

My brother in law talked me into doing this Farmer's Daughter gravel grinder on Sunday. NBD 65 miles of gravel. I just looked at some stravas of last year's event and jeez -- the national champ type guys did it in 4.5 hours, looks like most people were more like 6 hours. I can't find a single rider who did it with power but hr tss numbers are all over the place from 200-500. What have I gotten myself into?

It's a great ride, well supported. Lot's of people I know from CBRC and HRRT run it. You should have good time!

Maybe just Monday, or maybe not at all. Thinking I might race both Tuesday and Thursday night next week, then White Plains state champs next Sunday.

Please pass this along to any teammates or friends who might be waiting until the last minute to register for White Plains. This is the NY crit championship for crying out loud!

We have worked very hard not to reach this point, but unfortunately too many factors have worked against us this year.

The problems, by the way are:
1. Crowded calendar with Masters nats, Dave Jordan, Harvard, Nutmeg, Tour de Fish, Whiteface all this weekend
2. Binghamton was supposed to be the NY crit but got canceled just a couple weeks ago
3. Weather forecast is iffy in the afternoon
