Tour of Flanders

Any predictions for this race?

I'd love to see Disc channel get a win . . . although my money is on Devolder over Hincape. He's probably got duty covering early breaks, and he managed to make it stick this week, just losing in the final two man sprint in stage 1 of De Panne. He's looking in great form.

Boonen's hurt, Hondo's sick. I'm going with E Dekker.

There's a stack of riders faking illness at the moment!!!! The mind games have started.

I reckon that the 'Ronde' is the best classic of the year.

Since the smart money seems always be on a CSC rider, I'm looking for Vladimir Gusev to have another strong ride. Dekker's on form and looks good. Friere's sick as well. Could be anybody's race.

Lotek, you have to stop getting your racing news here. Magnus has been sick all year. PVP is riding like he always does this time of the year...near the front, making an effort, getting fit, honing the edge, but leaving the smaller races to the other riders while he holds his ace for the Ronde. I think he's a good choice. Weseman is also up there, as is Hammond, Nuyens, and Eisel.

Agreed! I have not yet made my mind up as to my pick. Plus I obviously need to check who's ill and who will...

Can't count out Vino either ... but I would love to see Hammond take the win or have Popovych step up (is he even riding)?

Vino's not racing. Neither is Popovych.

Discovery:

61 Armstrong Lance
62 Barry Michael
63 Devolder Stijn
64 Ekimov Viatcheslav
65 Hammond Roger
66 Hincapie George
67 Hoste Leif
68 Van Heeswijk Max

And here's my darkhorse for a podium finish: Nico Eeckhout!

You can scratch Hondo off your lists at least. And if you want a dark horse, try Cancellara and/or Flecha from the Fassa squad.
