HONDO Suspended

German sprinter Danilo Hondo has been suspended by the management of his team, Gerolsteiner. After being informed by the UCI that Hondo tested positive for a banned substance twice at the Vulta a Murcia in early March, team manager Hans-Michael Holzcer immediately supended the rider in conformity with existing contracts. Hondo was tested three times in Murcia: at the first stage, there was no adverse analytical finding, but at the two subsequent stages and tests, Hondo tested positive for a stimulating substance, whose nature has not yet been announced.

Hmm how are the puttin gout April 2 news already. Are they MAKING the news? I bet it is the same people that got Tyler. Or maybe it is a mistake because "nobody would be stupid enough to take that drug anymore because testing is so good."

Hahaha, oh man, I hate to gloat, but I called this one. I told my friend after Hondo won that ITT that he would get popped this year, and he did. Sucks though, I like him.

Funny, G. I was just thinking the same thing!

Too bad it's not an April Fool's joke. He's such a great cyclist.

All that hair gel's leeched into his system and somehow boosting his performance.
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=91847
Now the real question is.. how did the UCI know to test for hairgel in his blood stream.

Now that would be the most unique way of doping I've heard. Steroid hair gel.

I'm naive about such things, but would you had thought of a steroid cream? I always thought that junk was injected.

A third rate baseball player became the first guy to get suspended under MLB's new "get semi-tough" testing program. He says he never used steriods "on purpose", but might have consumed steroids "by accident" if it was in his "health food" or his "vitamin supplements". So, the "hair gel" thing could work too...if there are steroids in health food and vitamins, there certainly could be steroids in hair gel.

There are hormonal cremes you can use that have been out for years. Cremes absorb well through the skin and into the bloodstream.

I wonder if these guys realize how absolutely STUPID they sound when they say things like "I don't know how it got into my body!", especially after it was found (by his own team doctor) that the stimulant could not have possibly come from any supplements or medication he was taking.
