The LeMond Absurdity Continues

Anyone else seen this article where LeMond has now outlined how his hunting accident was part of a consipiracy to keep him from being the first American to join the 5 time Tour winners?

Apparantly new evidence has come to light that has led him to believe that people with European interests were somehow involved in setting up his "mishap" in order to put an end to his cycling career. He claims they didn't want an American to join the 5 club and therefore arranged for him to be shot. He claims that it is this consipiracy that catapaulted Lance Armstrong past him in the lexicon of American cycling history.

I wonder what Lemond's brother-in-law has to say about this?

Pretty impotent to make statements like this without quoting sources.

Before you make any conclusions: I did a search on Google and Yahoo and found nothing related to Greg Lemond. I also searched Velonews and Cyclingnews and also came up zip.

Where is this information coming from? I think its only fair to provide the source if allegations like these are made.

Pretty important to look at the date when reading strange reports with no legitmate sources.

Happy 1st of April

I was going to have to come clean soon anyway, you know how those american cyclists love to be in court. Hate to get sued.

Lemond does have 40 or so LEAD pellets still in his body. I wonder if some lead poisoning is occuring and going into his brain. Hinault did shoot Lemond in the eye during a hunt in 1983.

I heard from a reliable source that the Turkeys they were hunting that day were actually French intelligence agents, so it may have some truth to it..

I suspect A$$crackinpail will lose his sense of humor also when he's the target.

"Lighten up!"

Or is that advice is for everyone else, but not for you and A$$crackinpail?

I know, I just heard that when Greg was surfing the Bikeforums, which he does on a regular basis , he was really offended. He even went so far as to call me c*ck'n'pe*is!

I also heard that AP picked up the story and ran it on CNN last night, seems they get all their stories from people who post on special interest message boards.

Renegade Cycling Poster Arrested

Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 4:38 PM EST (2138 GMT)
Cincinnati, OH

An April Fool's joke has gone awry in Cincinnati, OH. Today, police arrested a renegade poster known only as Crack'n'fail.

Apparantly police received the tip from American cycling hero Greg LeMond. "This guy said some pretty ludicrous and hurtful things about me."

What followed was a rash of unkind things said amongst some of the forum members, an activity unheard of in posts that contained the words LeMond and Armstrong. Crack'n'fail had a tear in his eye as they loaded him into the car. "I was just trying to get into the spirit of the holiday."

A passerby described the arrest as a victory for all those who oppose April Fool's Day. "I just wish people would quit messing with us. I mean, Daylight Saving Time, Easter, April Fools! It's all too much to remember in one week!"

Crack'n'Fail did not resist the officers as they ambushed him during his Saturday morning ride. One bystander said, somewhat inquizitively, that they had heard an officer say "You think LeMond will give you trouble? There's some bigwhigs at Cannondale that want to have a word with you."

As the police pulled away, many noticed that the "C" in the Cincinnati Police Department logo looked alot like a wrench used by many bike mechanics. Crack'n'fail is not expected to be heard from again.

Not before time either. Another dangerous maniac removed from our streets. Give him the 'chair'.

Ok, let me ammend my response. Based upon the unsupported claim made by the OP I don't like Greg . Guess I fell for the April Fool's joke.
