well another anecdote on my end, so grain of salt, my buddy who helped me out with training to years ago (and it's the methodology i use still to this day) mentioned the 93% sans the 5 minute all out... also added in the possibility to make testing day a workout day which i usually do. Example in link below but after a PROPER 150w rest interval to get the breath back and chill, why not smash a 1 hr session of SST after? ;) Not always the case but i try for a SST workout any where from 20-1hr of work time after my test. It's surprising that the body can do it, and i partially think your body tricks itself, because SST feels REAL EASY (easier) after a full gas 20 minute effort.

Cool, I usually just tack on a bunch of hours of volume, it takes me about an hour to ride down to my testing area anyway so I take the super long way home.

You know, I've always felt like I should do more with a workout day than "just" an FTP test (although it is a pretty awful 20')... some SST after sound perfect!

My coach puts my FTP test as part of a workout day, usually Z2 after.

I generally do a 20' SS interval following the 20' all out test (although I don't test very often). It is really hard for me - I usually just barely hit the low end of SS.
