Looking for opinions

I'm having trouble making a decision so I'm just curious if anyone has some thoughts for me.

I had a *really* bad crash back in July and the neurologist is going to let me get back to riding on November 1, problem is my bike is in many pieces. I loved that madone, but the shop that sponsors my team is not a trek dealer so I'm looking at other bikes.

I've narrowed it down to two options and am totally on the fence.

1. 2015 Specialized s works Tarmac sram red
2. 2015 cannondale evo black Inc

I'm not a big power rider, and usually race crits only for experience and because racing is fun. I've had some good finishes mostly in road races and hill climb tt. My style of riding is pretty aggressive on hilly terrain and on flats I'm pretty docile usually. Before the accident my ftpwas about 290 and I'm 135lb so I'm not making "push an aero frame down the road at 33mph" power.

I tried a similar thread on the road cycling forum and got nothing, now that I've discovered a racing forum I'm hoping some of you cats can share some good info and advice with me on this choice.

I have no input on one bike or the other - both would do well, based on opinions I hear from friends/etc. In fact I bet you'd be fine on a much lower bike.

I wish I had your FTP or your weight. I'd take one. About 35-40% higher FTP than me, currently 40 lbs lighter than me. The "40/40" wish I guess. Realistically I could hit something like the "20/30" wish but whatever.

As far as bike goes my two bikes are cutting edge for 1998, based on the bikes the Festina team rode before they got ejected from the Tour. Well modern wheels, but people deal with them separately. Would it be nice to have a frame that's less than 1300g and 1650g respectively? Sure. Would it help me? Not really.

EVO is a great bike and I belive lighter.
We have an EVO-not the hi-mod- and are choosing Venge over Tarmac next year.
Sounds like for your size light is a better choice than aero.

Yes. I thought an informed opinion was useful. We have Tarmacs, Venges, Evos, Masi's, Felts. I've posted some...

With those numbers you should be competitive in any kind of race. A little guy who can repeatedly do a 3-minute pull at 350w should be able to put a lot of hurt on bigger guys.

No matter which bike you end up on, I doubt you will regret the purchase.

I'm sure your opinion is informed and useful, I was just confused about the pronouns. Most forum members are not plural.

Parts and bikes get re-purposed.
My wife, son and I have all raced. My son is currently, my wife rides his bikes, we all share parts. We also do team sharing (another we). I buy bikes and parts, we are given bikes to use, we loan bikes and parts.
I am very involved in racing - I'm just not the rider. It gets a bit confusing.

I knew you'd go for light, but Aero just about always always always wins.

The EVO will be nice and at least you'll never know what you're missing.

Except the world championships this year.
OP didn't mention winning and did mention climbing.

You have similar specs as me. My decision on my last bike was, I'm already light, so more light doesn't help as much (diminishing returns). Where I need help is when guys around me are doing 400w on the flats and my nose hits the wind. Therefore aero wins out.

Between the two options I'd select the Tarmac personally.

Did you really just spend 12 grand on a bike? I hope you get a good team deal. Beautiful bike though, I rode with a Cat 2 over the summer that took his to Belgium for a few mountain stages and raved about it.
