As far as I know, there are several more Rent crits to come. Perhaps CDR is just done due to new schedule demands, but I hope not!

Nice ... that was a brutal weekend all around. The crit was great though. Our best 2 finished 10th in the GC and was battling to the line line with your teammate for 4th on the last race. Looked like a hell of an effort on both parts, but your guy took the spot.

Hm we checked BikeReg at the beginning of the season, I think some things changed. I know New Britain was originally scheduled to have been done by now, instead it's later (and I can't make it).

So 3 more Rents.

Two for me, as I'm away this week. The Rent has been insanely fun for me this year.

No more month ends for those 3 Rents so I'll have water at least. I hope to be reasonable for the remaining races.

I had someone take pictures of my bike. He took one that made my stem look even more ridiculous than it is. Remember that the bars are high enough that my back is relatively flat or even pointing slightly up when I'm sprinting. It's not really that low. Please excuse the disgraceful state of tape.

So the guy is Brazilian, FB makes his translations say stuff about meatballs and such. Apparently meatballs and sprinters are sort of the same thing.

*edit okay so meatball refers to the Japanese flag's red ball / sun, so the comments are about "the Japanese sprinter"

maybe, but in a crit with 90 riders you have to give some thought to others. problem isn't riding up on the curb in this spot in that crit--it's the exit.

enough dumb stuff happens in these 2 turns...

Race report from my second 1/2/3 night at the track. Crash in first race, blew out rear tire and tore the stem off the front, bent several spokes.

I was feeling good after skipping yesterdays workout. 25 lap scratch race. Around 20 guys (and gals). Pace was good and fast. About 10 laps in, 4 guys go for a prime and the rest of us let the go but keep the pace up. A couple more guys move across, but we are really close. I look back to see how many are with us and its just me second wheel and everyone else dropped in ones and twos. So I bridge across and it's seven of us for the rest of the race. 3 to go, still feeling good, attack goes and I jump, then I'm not sure what happened but somehow I was 3rd or 4th into turn 4 when the pace suddenly slowed. I commit to go over just as the guy in front of me starts moving up AND the guy behind me has also committed to going over the top. Some yelling, attempting to squeeze tight and avoid a crash, but me and the guy behind me both cross wheels. Guy behind goes down right away, I wobble and slow down a bit but then dump to the right and roll. Sucks. Had my sights set on a better podium this week. Theres always next week if I get the wheels repaired in time.

what he said. sub 29" inseam (quads super short), 5'6-1/2". 175 cranks so an extra 5mm drop both bars and saddle.

Drops about equal to tires.

is that what it was? odd choice. after the race, someone was saying that move (or one like it) was the cause of the bigger crash some 15 minutes in.

btw, sat on your teammates wheel for a bit in the crit just before he took his $50 prime. i think we have equally bland kits.

i didn't show up until your last 10 laps or so. was the crash out of turn 4 or into turn 3?

turn 3 crashes on that course are usually caused by slower riders trying to make up spots going inside, and then pushing everyone else out. honestly, by going up that ramp the guy would have created space (but still it is weird).

turn 4 crashes are usually caused by the bit of wavy pavement and someone touching rear brake = fishtail & going down....but that guy's re-entry (i didn't see it) could be an issue.

one of the crashes I did see was caused by the field pushing out and basically running out of space in turn 3. didn't see or hear of any crashes in turn 4.

a couple of our guys got taken out in the 2s in a crash coming out of turn 2 or shortly after turn 2. a guy rode into one of the supports holding up the barrier flagging and took out two of our guys, one of which lost about 5 spokes from his front wheel.

In California, "bland" means "both sleeves the same color."

Simple may have been a better choice of words. And that's not a bad thing at all.

Also, didn't say hi. He did quite well for his first trip out there and seemed like a solid rider.

Catskills tt - 38/50 (although much debate exists regarding the times)
its amazing how psychological TTs can be. Normally I'm getting passed all over the place and just trying to limit my losses. yesterday I noticed I was catching my 30s guy early on and having a carrot to chase made everything so much better. Felt nice to feel as though I was actually competing. I'm not generally good at TTs and have no aero gear, but felt as though I put in a good solid effort and thought my pacing was good. pretty content with how it went, all things considered.

Nice Mikey.

Was it a Merckx style TT?
Do you have a TT bike?
