Congratulations for crossing over to the "Dark Side" as Headless called it. I too ride the road, but find off-road much more fun and exciting.

It sounds like you bike is just perfect for the riding you're doing. It seems to me that a lot of people get too much bike as a newbie. Although it's always a personal choice, it just makes sense to me to start off lower end and upgrade as you go.

The forks you have are fine, as your skill improves you'll start to realize the need for more adjustments and either lighter weight or more strenght depending on what style of riding you enjoy more.

A Khuon said, replace part as you go!

Enjoy, have fun, and let me add that like scuba diving, it's always better to go with a buddy!
