Velodrome in Oakland
I am a framebuilder from NY moving back to Oakland (track and Road frames) and I am trying to organize the construction of a track in Oakland or Alameda Point. I have recieved a quote from a track building contractor for $325,000, labor for 10 guys not included. This is for a wooden track indoors ( in a airplane hangar!!) and $295,000 for an outdoor track in treated wood. I think with enough effort we could raise half the money and have the city match the other half, I have spoken with Alameda about who was in charge of having the skatepark built, and I was told it was paid for by the kids who wanted through fundraising!!! I know there are more than enough interested parties in the bay area to get this going, I would like to meet all of you to get this underway.
