This will be my eleventh year commuting by bike year round in Minneapolis. Granted it's not really that far (about 5 miles each way), but I have felt proud of myself because it's not always easy. I have gone into every other winter with an "I am gonna kick ass" sorta attitude and just love it when people say, "Oh my god did you ride your bike?!?

This year, I just don't want to do it. It seems so much colder somehow and my passion is gone. We have barely reached below freezing and have had hardly any snow yet and I'm already wanting to whimp out! I am a decade older, my joints don't recover as well...ah, excuses.

Any advice on how to get it back?

Don't ride for awhile -- you'll start to miss it. And if not buy the biggest beast of an SUV you can like eveyone else...
