I may try fixed gear sometime in the future. I put some Panaracer tires on my MTB for any real snow. In my area that doesn't happen often. My intent was to take advantage of a good deal on studded 700c tires because I'm curious how they'd handle. Nasbar 700c x 35 studded cyclocross tires (90 studs) were $36 shipped. Unfortunately, only my old steel Raleigh has the clearance.
I wouldn't normally buy a new wheelset but I've been wanting to replace the one on my Schwinn so this gives me an excuse.
