Why not just join a team? The first year of racing is hard enough but to do it alone makes it that much harder. You’re going to be nervous for those first few races anyway, it would be nice to have a buddy to show you what to do. You might make a few friends along the way, gain valuable knowledge from others with experience, and have someone to talk with about the races.

And people to train with.

The money you spend to join the team generally covers the cost of the team kit. Since you’re buying something new anyway, you might as well make the leap and join.
